"Yeah, but you should see the other guy!"
![]() Hey! Glad you're writing about it with two good hands. Count your blessings. There could've been a pole, an oncoming car, or in a construction zone....a Big Mack . You (almost) walked away from a potential last stand. It'll make a great story for the grandkids one day. A framed pic of you beside the mangled mess with your arm around it, talking like old war buddies.... Cage it for a bit while dreaming of the next big adventure and be thankful you still can.. Take care. Don't forget to tell insurance it has a new cam chain and oil pump gear, that'll raise the stakes!

Glad you'r okay, and also think it's great you won't stop riding. Do you remeber hearing the tire Pop? are you shure it wasn't one of those dreaded bearing failures? Cheers ![]() Keep on riding, and hope you don't abandone us here on PArallel Universe, you're one of the good few

Wow Dieselboy! Glad to hear you're (somewhat) OK!
Heal up fast and I was going to say hope you get something figured out with your bike...but it sounds like you've already got something going. Still an F8? Dave

So glad you're still here!
Some guys will do anything to get a new bike. ![]() The fact that you kept things under control in an impossible situation is not luck in my opinion. Good job.

She's at the local shop awaiting estimate.
As I sifted through the debris, the 55mph caught my eye.

It was spectacularly done old chap.
Next time you won't even have to go to a hospital if you remember to keep your feet and knees together while not clinching your fourth point of contact. |

Glad to hear that you are okay!
Were you able to figure out what happened to the front tire? Did you pick up a nail or another sharp object? What do you think, would the outcome have been different with a tubeless tire? |

Thanks everyone! I'm enjoying the pulsing fingers of the TENS3000 unit. I'm in great shape all things considered but the back is protesting slightly. The Tens unit is a 9v massage. Get one, you'll love it!

I don't know. Loss of air in either system is bad. Perhaps a tubeless rim would have held the tire because of its more substantial bead? Hard to say without a conclusive cause. As much as I want to know "why", I was very focused on getting her into the shop so that the estimate could be done. I will try to look again but the bike was hammered when it flipped so the evidence may not be available. |
