Hey! Glad you're writing about it with two good hands. Count your blessings. There could've been a pole, an oncoming car, or in a construction zone....a Big Mack . You (almost) walked away from a potential last stand. It'll make a great story for the grandkids one day. A framed pic of you beside the mangled mess with your arm around it, talking like old war buddies....

Cage it for a bit while dreaming of the next big adventure and be thankful you still can..

Glad you'r okay, and also think it's great you won't stop riding.

Do you remeber hearing the tire Pop? are you shure it wasn't one of those dreaded bearing failures?

Well, no pop. I felt the rubber roll off of the tire [edit: or at least what felt like a roll off the tire]. I knew in the first second that this was a non-recoverable event. My first thought was to stay straight and to coast it to a stop on the rim. But after the dive to the left I was busy staying on top and keeping it from crossing into the opposite lanes. My mind's replay is like watching a movie plane crash from the cockpit. Suddenly the ground came up and the plane nosed in.

Keep riding? I've already secured my next mount.

Were you able to figure out what happened to the front tire? Did you pick up a nail or another sharp object?

What do you think, would the outcome have been different with a tubeless tire?

Thanks everyone! I'm enjoying the pulsing fingers of the TENS3000 unit. I'm in great shape all things considered but the back is protesting slightly. The Tens unit is a 9v massage. Get one, you'll love it!
