Ram Mount universal mobile device holder with Delorme Earthmate PN-40. I've had the gps for several years and like it. Use it for hiking, kayaking and geocaching. Non-touch screen and button are easy to operate with gloves.

Ditto. Where does everybody stuff all the extra wire on the power cables? The cable for both the 60CSx and the wire on the power cradle for the Montana are way longer than needed. There's a convenient space behind the battery but does it get too hot in there?

Thanks dude, that's great. If it's good enough for Emmbeedee, it's good enough for me.
BTW, we were in BC for a week at the end of July, loved it. Vancouver & Victoria. I realized something about Canada - it's just like the US...only different.

I realize that I am going to catch some flack for this, but I use my iPad in a Moxieware (http://www.moxiware.com/collections/...ipad-tank-case) case on my F800GS. Just finished a 13,000 km trip to the NWT via the Yukon and the Canol Road. 2000 km were gravel and trails. This case is rock solid with the RAM mount and it was 100 % water proof. It also provided my music and GPS for the entire trip. When I had Cell coverage it provided weather updates and allowed me to book campsites and motel ( where possible).
The case is very expensive, but bombproof. I would buy it again in a heartbeat for a long trip. iPhones and other smartphones and most GPS units are just too small to press at 120 kph or down bumpy trails. I don't have too many pictures of the case on the bike, but I will take a better one and post it. here is one for now.

Boy that 800 must have handled nicely.
![]() I love that grey box on the 1200. ![]() But if the iPad worked for you, that's great. I just wouldn't want to give up that much space on the bike.

I was surprised how well it did handle given the weight. Had two stretches of +350 km with no gas on the route to the NWT so I had to carry the gas. The other stuff was lightbut bulky camping gear.

Mind if I inquire your age, and what type of cellphone this was. Just a unique method of injury, not saying it could not happen but it is definitely odd. Even with chest compressions rib fractures tend to happen before a sternal issue occurs. |
