Four wheeled airhead. A big up for Moorespeed
Not quite what were used to on this site but it's certainly different.
BMW asked Richie Moore to tune their 700cc Airhead powered car for the Goodwood festival of speed. The car came third and has caused quite a stir giving the 3.8 Liter Jaguars a run for their money. (just google BMW 700 Goodwood) Nice job Richie ![]() ![]()

Would that be a Mk11 Ford Zephyr way in the background?

when I had my small repair shop in Fresno back in the mid 80s the BMW dealer around the corner used to send me a customer that had one of them, the BMW dealer wouldn't touch it because it had 2 too many wheels. strange car to drive but not bad.

Memories. I used to go to the Levin track and watch the `39 Chev coupes duke it out with a doctor in a Mk2 Jag. That Lotus Cortina was driven by a bloke named Kerry something, if I remember correctly.
I also remember the fastback Anglia`s and the Custaxie, Ford Customline bodywork (sort of) and Galaxie mechanicals; Morris minor bodies perched on top of a V8 powered chassis. I zoomed in on the photo and noted a younger fellow as you described, but he was picking his nose, could that have been you? lol

That was me...we had a Humber 80.
It was great racing here in the '60's - we couldn't get the fancy racing cars, so we made them. My favorite car of all time is Ralph Watson's Lycoming Special. My boss freighted an Evo down to Teretonga to race in a production car race last week. Jim Boyd used to toss a bag into the Lycoming Special, drive all the way down, race on the weekend and then drive home to Auckland for work the next day. |

"Small Dream", a BMW 700 Coupe. How cute. Thanks for that link, Renner-- the comments are priceless.
Rear engine, rear wheel drive. Rather the Teutonic version of the Renault Dauphine, no? I like the rendition of the headlamps in the image posted here!

In the '60s one ran SCCA road races and won overall against much bigger cars. I had 2 Dauphines that I autocrossed back then. You could make them handle but not much power. |

Remember the Honda 300 or 600 or whatever from '71? Cute.

That little BMW is awesome. I'd love to have one. Also, further vindication that Mr Moore knows his shit.
