A couple of providers work randomly but Verizon is not one of them.

Spoke to the boys
And consensus is PSR. Seems to be a lot of local rides also from there and the fact that we've never staged from there before. Only glitch is cell phone but slow wifi will git er done. ..if it blows Furnace is down the street...

Bit of a long haul to make a phone call ![]() In an emergency I know you can make a call out from PS but that is emergency only since I think they pay dearly for that service.

Good info
on the cell phone. We have a sat communicator for emergencies (Delorme) and txt/email traffic. Road conditions are looking fun if we pull it off to PSR!
Anyone been up Pleasant Canyon/South Park? Chuck

Just got back last night. We were riding drz400 and a WR250R. DV was part of a larger loop that went over the mountains a few times to the Owens Valley. We entered the park from the north side off of Saline Valley Road. SVR was baracaded with road closed signs. We went around them as it looked like everyone else had. SVR had a few small washouts but it was mostly fast graded road and not much washboard due to light traffic. The washouts were doable for large bikes.
Next was the road from Warm Springs to Steele Pass. On a good day the road is just a rocky wash. Right now it is a little more chewed up than normal. Finding the road was a challange at times. We averaged 10 mph on the first 10 miles. The pass was easy. Deradecka Canyon had some fun ledges to go down. The road around the dunes was sandy like always. We then went to Scotty's, the Crater and out Race track road. Race track was rough but easy. Turned left at Tea Kettle, another really washed out road, really rocky.but makable. Through Hidden Valley , nice conditions, up Hunter Mountain, buttery smooth. back out to SVR to the pavedroad to Panamint. Out of Sierra Neveada PA, hopefully remedied by now.SVR was nice high speed absent of the washboard that I usually experience. Went up the canyon to Darwin, rough and rutted but makable on a big bike. We also rode in the Inyo and White Mountains and found some challenging terrain not suitable for big bikes. Hopefully this helps. Sorry I didn't take any pics, camera got stepped on in the first photo shoot of the trip.......DUHHHH!..........PM with any questions..........John |

Goler Wash got hammered by a big storm earlier this month. Some of the 4x4 internet sites are showing pictures of huge washouts. The "stairs" at the bottom of Goler are apparently....pretty challenging. Pleasant Canyon is OK though.

By the way, I left a trail of tools and a license plate on the road to Steele pass from the hot springs.
