F800GS Hand Grips

Hi guys. Does anyone know if the rubber hand grips fitting an R1200GS will fit a F800GS? Mine are all worn down, but the dealer sells the whole warming grip thing, not just the rubber grip. Found the grips on the internet, but i'm not sure it they will fit right. Can anyone shed some light please?

Are you saying you have heated grips and want to replace the rubber grip but not the heating element? GH

If you are just looking to replace the grips, I recommend getting two of these, Pro Grip 699 Open End. You'll need two packages since the diameter is the same on both sides.

Helps reduce the vibration and also gives you fatter grips. I run them on all my bikes.

I'm trying to remember the brand of grip I bought. They were just the standard dirt bike grips at the local bike shop. I listened to advice from ADVrider and bought 2 sets, and used the throttle side grip from each set. After carefully cutting off the old ones I fitted the new ones by just stretching and working them on.

They moved around a bit on the bars, especially when the grip heater was on full and they were wet.

When they wore out, I took the non throttle side grips (the smaller holes) put them in a bucket of hot water, pulled them out and fitted them straight on. They were tight, but not overly so compared to other grips I've fitted.

They are snug and tight wet or dry, hot or cold.

Win/win.

TAG grips. The dual compound MX ones. They've changed the design slightly.

BMW K bike grips fit. Cheap and sold individually. A little thicker and I have not noted any effect on temps.

Thanks for the advice! GH, yup that's what I meant exactly. But I need to cut carefully the old grips and there's no turning back from that, so I want as much advise as possible. Replacing just the rubber grip saves me a lot! But I wanted something that looks similar to the original ones it came with.
I'll go ahead with your advice guys, and put a picture to show you how it turned out.

Hey, found these on ebay: Harris Ariete Replacement Style Grips BMW

They look just like the stock ones on the F800GS for little over $21 and they claim to fit.
Just ordered them, so I'll post a picture of them once installed.

I wrapped some "Beemer buddies" around mine, I prefer the additional thickness.

+1 on the Pro Grip 699s. I've run those on my MX bikes and like them for their tackiness and buzz dampening. The dual compound ones don't wear out as fast as a lot of other MX grips. They carry several other models.
