Can't say I'm surprised.

No "list" compiled here but this thread might help: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=490550

Thank's....

For the moment I see these recalls:

- Front axle
- Fuel Pump
- Fuel sensor
- Gas tank which cracked himself
- Coolant hose?
- Chain
- ... ?

:-/...

In case I buy this 2008 800GS which is not covered by the warranty anymore and the recalls are not done, what is the policy of BMW? Can I make the recalls for free (that was like that with my 2004 KTM 950 Adventure I bought in 2009) or will they charge me?

It's just me, but I would ask them to certify that the recalls had been done prior to my purchasing it. I'm not sure what happens if you buy it and then find out the recalls have not been done.

Well you are right!

But the bike isn't in the garage where I go normally (and which is near my home)... I'll ask for proofs that the recalls are done when I'll test it. I think most important is the chain, gas tank and front axle...

And I can ask the garage where I go normally for the BMW policy...

EDIT: Or a can buy a brand new F700GS but my wallet don't like this idea

I don't know about Europe but I believe that here in the states the whole idea of a recall is that it's done for free as the manufacture is correcting a fault that they were unaware of at the time of manufacture. I believe the obligation is to the vehicle not the specific owner. A call to a BMW dealer would confirm.

Yes I think too but sometimes we have some surprises.

Don't forget that most of these recalls only apply to certain manufacture dates and not to all.

For sure from what source? I have not heard of any recalls for gas tanks in Europe. Then again, I've never been to an official BMW dealer with my bikes either.

Didn't hear about it either. But than again I don't hang out on european forums. The only two things I've heard of are the chain and the pump oh and 2 or 3 cases of "cache culburateur" but after 4 years I think that the ones who had problems with it took a bath in oil, and had to change it anyway

Again, what are your sources?

I do not think there was a fuel pump recall either, just some replaced under warranty.
