There's always this tubeless system. I used these in desert races. They're a total bitch to get mounted but they work on any existing tube-type rims. Not even terribly expensive: http://www.nuetech.com/

I think I would stick to the standard wheels withe heavy duty tubes
I carried the spare tubes with anyway for worst case scenario |

The spokes all connect to the rim in the centre. This would likely be a problem with lots of off-roadish bashing.

Ah, this thread is alive again!
I've seen these wheels discussed, but never seen them in person. For the OP I'd suggest checking out the Alpina tubeless wheels: they're tried and true.

Anyone out there?
Hoped a few well-heeled souls might have dabbled with the Kineo brand by now, the looks are just.. well you all have eyes - but I wondered about their off-road credibility.
