2013 F800GS Traction Control Issue

Just wondering if anyone else has/had an issue with the traction control still working despite being turned off?
Whether I had it turned on (light off) or off (light on), the traction control would still work.
If you have/had this problem, has it been diagnosed and fixed?
If so, what was the problem/solution?
Just FYI, I installed a battery tender cable direct to the battery and did so by disconnecting the positive terminal first and re-connected the positive before disconnecting the negative terminal.
Could this have caused my issue?
I'll be bringing the bike in for its first service in a week or so and having it checked out, but was hoping to avoid a delay at the dealer if there is a simple fix.
