I have had the 24K and the 30K service done and no issues. I left the chip in place during the shop service (BMW shop).

If it is of concern, you can move the jumper to the -0º setting. This essentially returns the bike to stock condition. Or you can simply unplug it.

But as has been noted it really shouldn't make any difference.

I've been on order since 1st week of August and mine is in production. (Not complaining) just a heads up that this is not an instant gratification type of purchase.

Like Lonestar says, the IICE Air does not cause a diagnostic error.

It's not an issue for dealer service. If they give you any grief have them contact me.

I'm just going to assume the little box is filled with resistors that will bias my inlet air temperature. A simple jumper bar placement will determine which resistor is in the circuit. I hope the resisters are sized properly for the proper correction values and rated to handle the wattage incurred. (The ones from Denmark are not). I'll assume all liability for what biasing the air inlet temperature does. I just want to know when I could get it.

Yes, it is about time for an update. Here's what's going on with my sorry ass . . .

These last two months have been a real stretch. The hard drive backup failure that happened a while back came with some additional surprises.

Some years back I developed a network protocol for use between multiple microcontrollers. Nothing like CANbus or Ethernet, but good for inexpensive 8-bit controllers. I had a requirement for it on a job, and discovered the old firmware data on the hard drive for that project was corrupt and unusable. Lovely. So over the last month I had to recreate the protocol from scratch using sparse notes from over 10 years ago.

Having finished with that, I'm back at the workbench. For those of you who haven't received your IICE Airs, thanks for not staging a revolt.

I should be caught up with emails and messages by tomorrow.
