Dug it out of the shed

I parked this thing about 8 years ago in the corner of the shed,I've owned it for over 20 years

1982 Yamaha 80 Enduro

Put some gas in,checked the oil,and she fired right up.

Went for a little spin up the road,the clutch slipped a bit in the dirt and the shocks made funny noises from my fat ass but it ran well none the less!!!

It's in good enough shape that some cleaning will be enough for me.

My son rode it a little when he was young,now it just sits.

Thanks Navin, It really is a nice little bike and I'll try to get some better pics up soon.

After it cleaned up so well I started looking at my (blown up) 1987 Honda CR250 with renewed vigor.I've pulled the motor and am in the process of splitting the cases to pull the big end bearing and con-rod and MAYBE see if it's worth salvaging the old beast.

Good for you, man! It drives me nuts to see people doing full-house restorations on bikes that are really in fairly nice condition. It's okay for it to look like it's old, because it is!

I had a 100 version in the same color. 2nd bike after my minibike. 1979 DT 125 after the 100.

You mean you didn't change all the seals and clean the carb, it is a miracle (I am being sarcastic). Nice bike.

I cleaned the carb in 2006 so it was good to go

The worst thing I've come across is the bearings in the neck,they grab in a couple spots,I may replace them this winter after it starts snowing and I get crazy for something to do.

I love it. I've got a (plated) KM100 that is that size and have a ball with it. Be sure to run the ethanol gas out of it before it sits over winter. been there.

I'm having all sorts of fun with mine.I've spent some time over in the trials forum reading about a bunch of guys riding a TY80 and I thought I should try some of that!!

Who knew going slow was so hard?

I tried my hand at tight corners and banged off every tree in the yard.
Tried to go slow up a 2x8 teeter totter and missed that.
Jumped some small logs and killed it repeatedly.
I need to work on everything,I thought after 44 years of riding that I was pretty good.....I SUCK
