100,000 miles
Hey new here, first post. Been riding bikes since '82, mostly old air cooled Suzuki's.
Things haven't changed much, still riding air cooled Suzuki's. Got a good ride in a week or so ago and turned over the clock. I was referred here by a guy a met at a trackday at the new Ridge Motorsports Park. ![]()

Nice! With proper maintenance they just keep on running dont they? My 82 CBX turned over 100,000 recently as well. Who knows how long they will last?

Nice! I love to see high-mileage bikes. My experience is that if you do the maintenance, and avoid blatant abuse (stunting, lots o' wheelies, etc.), most bikes will last pretty much forever. Some of them (especially, say, older British bikes) may need a few judicious upgrades and improvements, but those are generally known and available.
The best one I know personally is a fellow in SoCal who has a 1970 Triumph 750 Bonneville with well over 500K on it. PhilB

Welcome AC1229! We are all perfectly normal well balanced human beings . . . . . . for the most part, actually that would be the minority around here. Nice Katana you have there and it is great to see it making miles instead of someones trailer queen going to a vintage Jap show. Keep the updates coming and some more pics of that fine motorcycle would be great.

The Kat is definitely no queen. A little hard to look at up close. Thanks for the comments. Here's a shot from Lewis and Clark State Park, ND. I was about half way to Michigan.

What Katana is this as I don't reckognize the engine as being a stocker. Is it a Canadian model or did someone do an engine swap.

It has an '84 1150 motor. The original was crashed on both sides when I picked it up for $400.
Don't know what happened to the 2 photos I posted last night. |
