thank you all, the journey goes on

next stop was Brac island next to Makarska, cruisin around stopped in Bo a small lovely village, well known by american tourists (islandhopping with boat and bike)

nice balcony

lazy cats on scooters

a flock of americans..... riding to their ship

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUrZxwUN3kw&feature=plcp

from Bo north an unpaved road goes to Farska (five Houses ;-) )

on top a fantastic view on .................a Volkswagen (this was their offroad vehicle, graveltrack down)

later on a nice fishermens cottage

old historic cities

leaving the island at sundowner, the red lighted hills in the background are mainland and 5 mls apart

want more offroad? ok, lets go to Hvar (one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world)
Hvar is abaout 60km long and the first 52km are limited to 40 km/h an there is no overtaking allowed, because...

.....of this

what to do? lets find a offroad track, no busses, no speedlimit.....no rush hour
fortunately the only tunnel on the island ist closed for motorcycles

but there is a way, not through the hill but across, view to the neighbour island Brac (you remember)
in background Makarska riviera

going steep uphill is difficult sometimes, standing still means going down...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieOtQ30MTz0&feature=plcp

but then, early at 10 am the nameless hill is yours alone

view to seaside Island Korcula and the small island Scedro

later, way south, it looks bit like australia, red greasy loam

no im not a pussy, but, if you remember, i lost my front mudguard
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-YubYFScz8&feature=plcp

my next kilometers downhill, very funny

and sometimes you find a way down, small, overgrown. no other man till 3 hours (thats extraordinary in europe..)
to a lonesome bay, cooling down the offroader in the sea

on the way back to Starigrad (means old city) a little bit Rallyefeeling

Were all the stills photos taken with your HD Hero?

I have been waiting to see photos taken with the HD Hero to see what they were like. If these are the quality of the stills, I am going to buy one.

Hi, I have just come across this RR from Croatia, pictures are outstanding, especially interesting are those of Makarska Riviera, taken from Hvar, thank you for sharing. Nice bike btw, Baghira isn't that popular outside Germany, but looks like a really decent trail bike.

Thank you guys, happy that you liked it.

@marizaga
oh yes, the bike MZ baghira wasnt a big seller. unfortunately. it was sold in the states too, but 80! pieces in 2008 (last year) wasn`t enough to save the company from insolvency

i was in slovenja and nothern croatia again last august with a few friends of mine. this time we use heavy metal. BMW GS and Triumph Tiger (mine)
want to see some pics?

Ok, here are some pics from the trip in Aug 2013

first we rode from Munich to an alpine cabin at the austrian/italian border, stay there overnight and crossing the border on unpaved road next morning.

first stop in val di resia / Italy

then riding a gravelroad along the slovenian/italian border called slovenian borderline road. was build in Worldwar I, a hundred years ago.

Istria a peninsula in Croatia welcomes the riders with dusty heat an small historic villages

then at least entering a small campground on the island Cres. a lot of hippielike people there having fun, driving children around with an old 2stroke MZ combination

next day is the offroad stage with our big bikes.

but after all, we get a huge gratification. a really big plate of meat, french fries, ajvar, onions and a lot of icecold beer.

meat is really cheap in croatia, instead of fish, we paid only 50$ for four.

unfortunytely this was a short trip and we had to leave. back we cross Istria from south to north on the smallest roads we find.

from Trget

to a small city, called groznjan, entered in late 60ties by artists and hippies to rescue the historic city from destruction. now its a city with no cars, quiet and with nice views

on our last day we try the fishplate, it was very delicious and very.....expensive

mussels

and fish

hope you like it, bye bye from germany
