I have even ridden on the Sobboa reservation which can get you shot..!!
No shit !! you may get shot if you ride there. I dont recommend it.

But for anyone who doesnt know the area here is a clip.
This is a green sticker legal to ride black diamond trail.
The fireroads are well groomed and have almost no rocks on them unlike CNF.
I dont think anyone on a Dakar will be able to do this trail.

If you dont watch the whole thing just watch the last minute or two.
The soil is great up there and after a rain it is as fun as anywhere I know of.
To my OC bretheren. When the time comes we can stage at a friends house in Anza that is only about a 10 minute ride from this trail. Roads not trail so street legal a must.
Then we can also make the loop larger and hit the high country of Coyote Canyon in Anza Borrego State Park down to the old horse camp where the road was closed off to keep riders/ trucks from dropping down into the low desert.
This is a fun section once you get off the hill and turns into sandy single track or you can bypass and take the wash down.

This section Kali is talking about is pretty rocky from what I remember, hell all of California is rocky for the most part. A few smooth areas for some relief but still gardens a plenty.

As opposed to the next ride after other one.... Dakar rides are a distant memory

Any of you clowns want to ride on Friday to show an inmate from Maui some of our trails? Wrightwood - Silverwood lake - Big Bear and back. About 90 miles total.

The backside of Canyon Lake was the place to go back in the late 1990's. Even shot some TV shows back up in there. But the Roverside County Task force cam in and shut it down. Then with no activity, people started dumping trash there. I don't go there anymore due to picking up too many nails in the tires now.

If you know the Sobboa Indians, then you are OK. They have some sweet bikes and like to ride. But it's I tend to stay away.

Too funny! Way too much seriousness going on. Really, me talk shit? About riding? LOL! I can't ride for shit. Pretty much everyone here can ride places I would crash and burn. I just want the freedom to ride the CNF that is close to my house. If I was close to anywhere else I would feel the same. No idea why it always has to turn into who has the biggest dick, or shall I say, who can BE the biggest dick (myself included with some bonehead comments), but shit, really? Damn near everyone here I've ridden with/met has been pretty damn cool...except seemingly on this board.

When I refer to "my" mountain, it's because it's in my backyard, not because I feel like I have some ownership, mastery, or the desire to keep anyone else out. Quite the contrary, I would like most of the areas opened to the public more. I'm sure there's old timers out there that have ridden the trails that no longer exist except in their memories. (and I'd love to hear about them should we ever meet)

Tell ya what, you send me the tell, I'll try and load some ice and brew in my pack to sooth all this nonsense. The best thing about riding...no drama.

Would love too see the dust trail and you up on the top sometime Rob. I'm banging around on a Suzuki drz 400 now, seeing how much it will take before I break it. I need new springs but I'm too fuggin cheap to order them, maybe just the front, dunno, have other things more important like chain/sprockets/seat/handle bar. I have been seeing quite a bit more wildlife the last few weeks. Saturday night heading down, at the second bend up from the end of the asphalt, I could have sworn I saw a cougar and the eye reflection....could have been a bobcat I suppose, but I'm pretty sure it was a lion. I debated going back to the hikers I had just passed to warn them, but there were four of them. If it would have been a solo hiker I would have turned around and went back. See how much I think that was a bobcat?

Blue Jay CG

Hi locals,

I made a promise to my girlfriend to take her to a local camping on bike one night. And she wants to do it this Friday.
I am planning to take her to Blue Jay CG off Ortega. Do you think it is a good idea?
I checked weather and it will be 80's day time and 50's night. No rain. Only from 7pm Friday night to Saturday afternoon.
Any comments? I've never been to Blue Jay. I'll take pavement, no dirt. Tent camping and trail cooking. Do I need to take firewood or can I just grab some from the area?
Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks.
