Did you ever do this? I have a 650L CDI and a 600 CDI shouldn't be too hard to come by. If you are willing, I will get the parts to you. Let me know. |

I've never played around with it, I looked up some parts a while ago though. I still have the stock exhaust, piston, cam so there's a lot I'd need to do before needing a better CDI. You can get what's basically inverter on a chip. Dave

I bought a xr600 because of articles just like this one
Hello,
I was reading articles all over the net etc on the xr600, It has a huge following all over the world, I wanted a dualsport that was somthing different than my other bikes, i can plate anything in arizina ( one of my ktm 300,s is plated ) Anywas I scored a 1998 that was a garage find with only 250 miles on it. I ride out of my house and really put bikes to the test , I have two modern 450,s and two late model 300,s, both of what many say are the best bikes ever. I made a loop I named after ernsburg because of its difficulty. my friends thought i was nuts taking the xr6 on it, I was blown away by how good the bike did. the engine and suspension are amazing, No i can not go as fast as my ktm450 etc, but it willl go basically anywhere the others will, just not as fast. I do think it is incredibly comfortable though. For rocky roaads and fast sections, on a real long day, watch out, the thing is a cadi in that, Next time i go to baja, its gonna take front seat to my newer bikes !!!! even my 450 xcf,yz450f and 300,s |

The Big 6 took the podium at Baja 12 years in a row. That's a remarkable winning streak.
