Congrats on the new bike! You're near some awesome riding down there and great weather! When I'm done building this guard it'll fit 2009-2012. Fun working on new stuff.

I'm looking forward to exploring some of the stuff I ride on my 450 on this big girl. Good looking products there!

O.K. here's the latest photos of my new passenger heat shield. If you've ever ridden 2-up and had your passenger has complained that their foot is on fire, check this out! It keeps your boots from getting hot. This makes a huge difference. I noticed a difference just in traffic at stop lights. :)

^^ Looks like it will help a lot. Even when I'm not wearing flip-flops, I feel the heat; especially when stopped.

Info on it? Saw it on the CJ site in a list but no information on it...size, how it helps, etc.

Thanks

I have the same windscreen. I got mine from ktmtwins.com.

It's shorter (~2") than the stock screen and has a small lip that aids in airflow. For me, that means it keeps wind from hitting me at eye level; making it more comfortable to ride behind. I guess you could add "adds Rallye look" but that was less important to me.

Question

just asking.... adding just some pipewrap wouldn't do the same thing?

I'm not sure. You'd still have the problem of the height of the air tho many have trimmed the stock screen to achieve a similar "lowering" effect.

I'm about 5'11" and it does help the head rattle / buffeting. Plus it helps when you are standing and riding the gravel roads. It shoots the wind right over you. Plus the cool Dakar look helps!!

Pipe wrap causes the pipe to corrode and become very brittle. So yes it would help but its not a good idea

Thanks Qwik! That is correct about the corroding and brittleness. Not good. Pipe wrap 'helps' but the heat is still greater coming off the pipe area onto your boot versus having this heat shield. If I wanted to get really crazy, I could even glue heat reflective tape to the backside, but I think that's just over kill. The guards are safe to touch w/your hand for a couple seconds even after a long ride. Thanks for the questions too, you guys.

The 908/606 combo is great and I love them but I'm gonna do about 600-700 miles of pavement this weekend so I threw on the Conti Trail Attacks.
