Hello Everyone,

Mike is making us a rectifier/regulator heat shield that in prelim testing is lowering the temp at least 25 degrees! Mike is getting a reading of 175 degrees when at idle and showing 5 bars, with the shield it drops down to 150ish degrees.

TT might help us with the pictures?

Oh, we might have a new rear rack as well?

Take care Everyone, Eric.

The shield thing has been played out, while it may buy you some time it does not cure the problem...

Relocate it............

HOW-DEE-BOYS... i have been getting some great feedback about the Plates i have got sent out, but today i received a comment, that deserves mentioning. On the Photos that BIG-E sent through the Grapevine for me, that was on my Personal 950, and that plate, i had added a couple supports under the case guard covers. On my own bike, i built the sides practically straight up, and down, which looked like it could use an extra brace?
Sooooo, on the Guards i have been building and shipping out, i have altered the sides, so they are sitting out about 15 degrees, and therefore, i felt the side supports were a little redundant.
It was mentioned to me that the original Photo did not look exactly like the product received, so therefore i received an e-mail inquiring about the change?
The comments were correct, in that i should have provided an up to date Photo, explaining any change? I appreciate all inquiries, and positive criticism.

I received my plate from Lake Monster and it is a work of art. It bolted up easily and looks like it was built the way a OEM plate should have been built. With Mike's design you would have to hit something very hard on the very front of the plate and actually bend the plate before the oil tank and rad would move.

I replaced my Black Dog plate with this plate and I like how Mike's plate bolts to the center engine cases. I think I will install a rubber block near the center bolts to add even greater support for the real crushing blow that this bike will see do to it's weight.

Well done Mike, now get that website up and running and display your work to the world.

+1! Thanks Mike. Anyone who refers to an unreasonable hardass as a perfectionist is OK in my book I do IT product development for a living and it sometimes gets in the way of actually living for me. On the more fun side of things, I spoke with a retired NOAA weather friend of mine and he says November is going to be B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L here so I hope to get out and bash me some plate next month!

Brown Dog, thanks for compliments! Yes, i could leave one of these au' natural ? for you, but it's not gonna stay PURTY for too long? Bare Aluminum Oxidizes fairly quickly. The Powdercoating end up being $20.00 per, so i would just deduct that off the cost of $325.00 Can. for you.

BTW, do you still have your 690? I have finished a Prototype rear Quick Detach Plate system for the 690 crowd, after hearing so many complaints about rear fuel storage/bag/box etc, covering the fuel tank. My system slips on and off in seconds with one fastener, and centers the load over top off the four fuel tank mounts.

Will PM you, and get some Photos off to you?
Thanks, Mike.

Thanks Mike,
Yes I still have my 690.
Most plates I've seen that hinge or held on by a pin,
Rattles and / or loose

Got mine in the mail yesterday!

It's beautiful and functional. My oil tank was busted up bad- both externally and internally- enough so that I had to buy a new oil tank. Ouch!

The plate is beefy and it mounted right up perfectly. It also works with the Black Dog sidestand relocator- you just need to trim off a piece of one of the spacers.

As an added bonus, doing business with Mike was an absolute pleasure.

Thanks again Mike! You make a quality product!
