SHINKO 705 in 150-70-18 and who sports em.

Can anyone confirm that this size and if anyone in the group is running them on their 950/990 . I think I'd like to give em a try come the next change.

Shinko 705

I can't confirm that size. I ran a 130 because when I bought them, that was the widest selection they had.

I've run mine on a trip to the tail of the dragon 2 years ago and put 1200 miles on them in a week. Took them off when I got home and then put them back on in the beginning of this season. I Took a 2100 mile trip in 7 days on them fully loaded. I did less than 500 miles of slab, and over 200 miles of fire road / dual track. They are in need of replacement at this point.

They are more street oriented, fairly smooth compared to full knobbies and perform well in most conditions.

Hope that helps.

Oh yeah - on a 950 se.

Only 3,300 miles and toast? I got more out of my Pirelli Rally tire . MSS shows that they have the 150/70/18 in stock , but I'll have to make a phone call to confirm.

The SE has a thinner rim, don't forget that. I find ADV (4.0"-4.25") vs SE (2.5") rims on tire life, the ADV will last longer. You get to use more of the profile. If you only ride straight then all bets are off, but when I run an ADV size rear rim on my SE, knobbies last longer.

Tires

Hey Guys - I'm looking for the Shinko 705s for my bike R1150R - I want to ride some dirt roads on it - and am having a tough time finding them for the size 120/70 17 and 170/60 17. I've checked number of sites, are there any that you would suggest checking?

Also, if I can't get the Shinko 705, is there another 80/20 on/off road tire you would recommend.

Thanks
