Rick Mayer Airhead Seat
Rick Mayer is running a special on their seat. I'm thinking to recover the seat for my r80st and r60/5 SWB. Has anyone put Rick Mayer's seat on their airhead? Any pictures? Pro and cons?
I had a question regarding using existing seat foam. Rick replied they will use some of the original foam. They will make sure the seat is properly padded even with the original foam. I'm not sure if reusing a 30 year old foam is a good idea. Should I ask them to install brand foam for additional cost? Thank you for the reply, TT |

just fitted an old Mayer Day Long solo seat to R80G/S. seat was made for an R65 so extensive modifications had to be made to seat pan.
came out great! wonderful seat, much more comfortable vs stock R80G/S solo seat. here's pic of seat before mods ![]() ![]()

Bill Mayer usually makes good comfy stuff. The photo of a g/s seat on his website is one he made for me and it was the best saddle I've had. He also did one for a r80rt for me and it wasn't quite right and he happily reworked it. Have another of his saddles on my oilhead rt. Jeff
