I am new to Dual Sports. Got my 2012 BMW G650GS last month and only have 1,600 miles on it. About 400 miles have been on dirt roads / trails. Almost all of my previous riding has been on pavement. 40,000+ miles in last 10 years. I am interested in this Rally because I like to camp on my motorcycle and haven't spent much time in NE Tennessee. The area sounds great. (I also like beer, the darker the better) ;-)
My question is this: Will the rides be too technical for me or are there some easier rides with mixed pavement & dirt roads?

Is the deluxe cottage (3bdrm) where Ricks family will be staying or is that available for some couples to share? If it is open, How much would that be for all 3 nights? |

Hey Mark Well since neither Keith or myself are great at writing or willing to dedicate a lot of time to it. I'll do one real quick right here. We rode to Alaska, We saw a lot of beautiful scenery and lot's of bears, several moose and a few elk. We did 12.5k miles in 26 days and it was wonderful I'd love to go back. Here is a link to my photobucket page it has all my pics from Ak. The first couple are from 2012 RDV. http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w...view=slideshow Did some editing on photobucket and replaced the link. looking forward to spring now and back to the Rdv. and BYOB and hopefully a few other rallies next year. Trials World Round Following weekend
Just a heads up, it looks it's relatively close to the Rendezvous , The USA round of the FIM World Championship Trials is the following weekend in Sequatchie, Tennessee at the Trails Training Center.
If you have never been to a Trial World Round it is something any motorcyclist would enjoy. Impossible looking sections with awesome riders. Sorry if this has been posted before as I didn't read the entire thread.
