Tell me I did the right thing... Bought an R80 G/S

I sold a very mint CB700SC to pay for this... Did I do a good thing?

Price seems like a bargain. I'm pretty amped up about.

1984 R80 g/s with 82000 miles

ohh man you bought an 84!...didn't anybody warn you?

Actually it looks ok. Looks like it's been restored in the past. Whys it listed as a 1000cc?

Converting to real money (£'s) it seems like a real bargain

HA! You got a steal, assuming it runs alright. A perfect example of someone on ebay not titling their item well. If the title had "R80G/S" in it it would've sold for twice what you paid. Well done. Also, they list the engine size as 1000cc rather than the original 800cc and it appears to have 40mm bings on it rather than the original 32s.

What's the problem with 84s? My research didn't provide any serious problems with the year. It's got the upgraded 1000cc barrels on it.

Nothing whatsoever. I was just winding you up. (Don't worry, as Kev says, its a Brit thing).

The 84's have an upgraded gearbox selector so it was a good year. The 1000cc conversion is a plus point as well.

Sour grapes

all the "negative" comments are based on the fact that the commenter didn't see this one first.

Nice score.

I can assure you, of the 5 R80G/S I owned, none were sold anywhere near $3500... more like $5500 to $6000.

Looks like you did really well!

I'm not sure what everyone is going on about... these bikes are rubbish! Brakes are crap, suspension is crap, frame is crap... the handlebars are comfortable though!
