Stuck gas cap on R80ST - /6, /7 style airhead - Page 2

My R80ST cap broke when the bike was ten years old,
I replaced the cap with a new one, back then it was 100 bucks and was the first thing that I bought where knew BMW's were going to be different then other bikes.

On my R100GS I couldn't for the life of me get the cap off.
I tried everything, nothing worked. Then I did the lift the handle, drill and screw in a small screw.
Only after that was I able to get that cap off, but it wasn't so much as locked as it was frozen in place with corrosion.
