I have been getting conflicting info on the Mex 5 pavement. I have someone insisting that it is paved all the way through to Hwy 1 now, but I find this hard to believe. Any word?

No it is not !!
I was just down last week pre running.
it is paved 47 miles past Puertecitos
the race will run on 43 miles of that paved road at 60 mph( BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
then it jumps of to the left side of the Main road (where they are still working on the pavement to Gonzaga)
It runs a fast twisty sandy road south thru a short canyon then back to FAST sandy two track to Coco's.
the Course then turns left at Coco's with a few Big wash outs out about a mile or two.
The Dirt road continues to the south / west twisting out to Hwy1 for 13 miles.

It is an easy drive from San Felipe to hwy 1 any type of vechicle............

What Baja Dad said. I came through a couple of days ago. The SCORE route to Coco's is the same as NORRA. A bunch of the last paved section is yet to be used. They are still grading just before Papa Fernandez. There were still survey crews working just past Gonzaga.

In Guerrero Negro tonight on way back up from La Paz. The highway is in good shape all the way down. Just below Mulege there are a couple of vados that are a little rough, just back out of the4 throttle when you see the orange & black construction reflectors along side of the road. The new section below Viscanio is real soft and silty but as said before are wide enough that it wont be a problem. The last bit before Santa Ignacio is REAL rocky with large blocks of basalt lava (so save some energy for that last bit).

Titled "SOS from my husband's SPOT"
http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=837658

My husband is in Baja Mexico (Baja Ho) with 3 other friends who I cannot reach. I have been receiving SOS messages since 6PM and phone calls saying they are requesting help from search and rescue here in Mexico. San Quintin says they do not have the man power to look for him. At 2PM this afternoon he sent me a message from the same coordinates saying he was OK. He left for Baja 2 days ago with 3 other guys. I am in Cabo and flying back to California tomorrow. I need help!

QUOTE=Baja Ho;19931605]Great news, just got a phone call from the Old Mill. Dan's bike broke down and his SPOT is missing. He is not sending these SOS messages. He is not even aware of what's going on as he is asleep.
