Here Tis!

OK, first I'm humbled by everyone expressing how much they appreciated me putting this little event on.
Without getting all mushy, I appreciate you all for going with me.

A quick rundown of those that could come,,,Steve and Brett were waiting at Cracker Barrel at Greenville. Theresa, JP, Randall and Dan showed soon after me. Kevin was already at the campsite when we arrived. Site selection looked good so we set-up tents just in case we got back from fridays ride after dark.
Friday night late arrivals were Nick,Morris,Doug, Jim and Lee. Saturday morning, Reggie, Gary, Jack and Lisa ride up just as we're gearing up.

17 riders. Thats a lot.
Way too much bla-bla so here go the pictures:

Fall season is about to be full blast.
Falling leaves are clogging the river.

Seen at Jacks Burgers

At Shoal Creek Church:

Dan recently lost his father. I saw him ride up to the old Church cemetary to view the simple sandstone markers.

Could not take a picture of that moment.
My condolense to his loss.

We make it to the old bridge on Terrapine creek and are defeated by the new improved tank trap. Dan see's a way across (gotta little movie) but we decide to beat the sun back to camp and make our way back.

Its obvious that Kevin enjoys camp cooking and brought lots of food/cooking stuff along with all that it takes to go camping. A lot of stuff to pack on a motorcycle.
Steaks, potatoes, carrots and onions for supper with french bread and some kinda somethin to dip the bread in. Yum!

Pop (Park Ranger)ain't no dummy by a long shot and knows when to show up for eats. Took just a tiny bit of arm twisting to get him to eat with us.

No arm twisting required at all for Jim.

JP saved the day with the truckload of firewood (not all seen in this shot)
so we had a great time around the campfire thats just getting started.

Reckon why this fella fell down?

Well next morning everybody knows we're spinnin knobbies at 9am.
Everyone is anxious and ready.
Jack, Lisa, and Gary:

Dan with his nipple hat:

Well, it doesn't take long to lose some riders.
The carnage begins to begin.
Kevin tweaks the bars/clamps on his 990 in the multiple tank traps on the CCC road and decides to just spend the rest of the day sightseeing the county and meet us back at the camp that evening.
JP heads back to help .

My turn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
In Kentuck ORV I come around a sweeping turn to find a fallen tree aimed at "the boys". The DRZ sacrifices herself to save me and gets a busted radiator shroud, dented tank and big puncture in the Corbin seat.
Don't know why I didn't crash.
Wish Steve had a go-pro camera going cause he had his KTM hot-hot on my tail.

Brett has better pictures of my DRZ with its cherry busted.

Ha! Been watching this fella ride a motorcycle since he was 3 years old.
We're each others Hero and I think thats way cool.

Right after that picture, Dan comes riding up and we find out that he's crashed hard and thinks he's broken a rib. Randall has been nursing a leaking front tube for a while so they head back to camp together.

Gary comes in a little too hot to make the "S" turn approach to this culvert/bridge crossing and takes a little bath.
Thankfully he's still good to go!
Gary, you aren't the first fella to go in that place. Back in 05 Stuart Crowley made it across all three of those culverts and jammed up into the trees on his KLR.
Guess next time, we'll do a "gather-up" stop there to avoid any more of these episodes.

Waterproof toilet paper dispenser in KTM orange on Kevins 990.

These things are dangerous! I set the wooden camp table on fire for a couple seconds.

Pop shows up again and express's how much he enjoys seeing all of us there.
He's a great guy. I'm gonna adopt him.

More fun and laughs around the campfire that night until Theresa has a sharp pain develop in her back. Thanks Jim for helping her.
Next morning, we decide to eat breakfast at the restaurant and check on Theresa but she and Jim are gone. Find out later that they left just before we got there.
Time to pack-up camp and I decide to at last visit the museum at the entrance to the park. Pop is the curator and gives me the VIP tour since I'm a VIP.

Hundreds and hundreds of arrowheads, points, stone tools with some carbon dated to 10,000 years ago.
Very strange feeling to hold a artifact that was crafted by man so long ago.
We're only here for a short time. I think we're spending our time here wisely enjoying riding in the forrest and each others company.

Last shot of Pop's in front of his museum holding the medicine man healing stick.

Wish Dan and Theresa could have stopped by to let him try it out on them.
Get well soon friends!

Again, another great outing.
Thanks everyone for making this a success!

I've got maybe 6 short movies that MUST be posted.
Need more time!

Cheeea Haw!

Tony,,, thank you VERY much for putting this thing together,, I had a blast! Between the riding Friday and Saturday, I was wore out!

Kevin,,,,man you are a GREAT cook,,, I never in a million years thought I would ever eat that good camping out and I am totally amazed on how you brought allllll your camping gear, cooking utilities, and extras with you...you are a TRUE ADV RIDER...wow!

It was really nice to see another female rider that leave men in the dust Lisa it was great meeting you. I felt privileged to ride with Reggie Barnsdale. I have a good picture/video of the guys helping Gary pull his bike out of the water and rocks. Considering how many riders we had,,, I think the carnage wasn't too bad and everyone took care of everyone and the carnage made it back to their campsite on their own two wheels.

I was hurting saturday night, stupid back,,, I guess it is a sign Im aging LOL and you know there is no place like home when you feel like crap, so I headed home as soon as I could see the road Sunday am....I wish I didn't miss out on breakfast and the tour.

BUT I would do it all again, because it was worth it!

I like it too!
Sure glad your feeling better

Just got off the phone with Dan.
He still ain't feeling very sporty.

Can't get a hold of Gary.
Last I heard, he may have broken/cracked his pelvis crashing off that culvert/bridge.

Carnage,,,,,,,the carnage,,,,,the horror.

Here's a youtube about Kevin cooking us omelets:

For food information see the Trot thread

Yep!!

Phil is gonna do the trashcan chickens Friday night...great stuff if you have never tried it....

Gonna be leftovers for Saturday....

One thing we are sure of.... plenty to eat and drink at these things...

BTW - it would be a big help if folks brought their own plates, spoons forks and a chair....

Cheaha riders who took the GOLD MEDAL!

First & foremost, GOLD medal goes to Tony " MadHouse of SPEED" for taking the lead, organizing & making a separate trip wknds before w/trailer & volunteer riders to explore & map each days route/loop.
I also give Gold to Kevin "Forest" for riding his pumpkin up & back, totin what he needed to treat us to some great roughing it grub. This man/rider makes a mean omelet just when your facing a bowl of plain cheerios & milk. I'm not much of a breakfast eater but his willingness to whoop-up a hot treat at his time & expense is greatly appreciated. Not to mention the laughs is spreads around camp w/the funnies he carries in his cranium.
Everyone who showed-up & rode deserves a "silver" for hardcore riding perseverance( joanzin ), GREAT group. Despite minor incidents, all of us came out lucky given what could happen.
I was not there for Gary's stream crossing but remember looking back at Stuart thru the roadway cloud years back. He speed blasted his KLR beast straight up "on the pegs" thru water, many boulders, then parking it on dry land again in an island of trees w/o releasing death grip on bars to let it go down to either side., UN-REAL!!
Thanks again to all that added to the mix, the good time and pics posted,
JohnnyP

Yea It was a Great time, and Tony is a Human GPS, I think Toura Tech has a mount for him but its Big $$$$ and hard to see past when mounted on the handle bars. It was good to see every one once more, and a BIG shout out to Theresa for the use of the Air pump.
Next time i am going to make sure I take my riding pants liners, had some poly long johns but the mostly mesh pants, you know lets the wind in. I had all the heat packs in the package over parts of my body so was not cold at all except for the fingers. going to head to the Trout on sat for the day, cant stay Ive got to catch up on all the work I have not done around here.

I have been dealing with a horrible tooth ache for weeks. I finally went in yesterday am and said he better start tracking it down because I couldn't stand it anymore! He found it and pulled it. Big fat Abscess tooth! So, I am currently laid up in bed taking heavy meds and antiobotics. I think I would have rather had my daughter naturally again then deal with this :(

Later this week, I have an appointment with my massage therapists to work out my back issue from this past weekend.

Therefore I don't think I will be riding this weekend, but maybe I can still come visit if that is ok?
