I have different size ones of these, this is my small 5 litre one that I carry all the time. On this trip I did 135 km's on 7.9 litres of fuel, which is 16.6 kilometers per litre, which is 6.25 litre to 100 kilometers, which is 45 mpg. And who says two strokes get bad milage? That milage kicks the crap out of a Harley. And I was NOT going light on the throttle .......

Sorry, but my 99, 1200 Sportster gets about a constant 55 mpg. Can get close to 58 iffin I nurse it like an ole lady. Just lurkin here guys. Had a bunch of TS's in all displacements. Loves me some 2 smoke! Carry on.

I agree 100% I think about the best I ever got out of my KDX200 was about 30. No idea what the old TS's and DT's I had were getting. Back then I didn't care. Just carefree twist n go days.

It is just that the go is way faster now. Those corners come up a heck of a lot quicker !!!!

And I find that the twist does make the cares go away .......

And a side note, if anyone is looking for business to invest it, here is some insight:

1) Kenda tires - I run Kenda Trackmaster K760's and will be buying at least 4 rears over the winter - should get me to August 2013
2) Belray - nothing but H1R in the tank and GearSaver 80W in the tranny - going through it like a politician spews promises
3) Chevron - nothing but 94 octane to mix with that H1R - every twist is like money in the bank for you

Bchunter, Have you ever tried Amsoil Dominator 2stroke oil ? I'v been using it for about five years,I'v had good luck with it. Powervalves clean,when rebuilding. The best thing I think is it comes in quart bottles and I mix it 16 oz to 6 gallons gas.So you get 12 gallonsgas to bottle and it costs about the same as the little bottles of other oils.
This is my second 300 I'v rode it alot doing harescrambles and enduros,But I'm thinking more about just trail riding and since I have this bike already I'm gonna try it out as a dualsport.
I have a extra set of wheels, so I can put some more street worthy tires on them.Maybe put a smaller sprocket on the street wheel.

No, I have not tried that one but have a buddy who used to run it when he had a 2T. I tried some Amsoil once, but it was because I ran out of Yamalube in my old TS. In that thing, I don't think it really mattered what I ran. Actually, in the old TS I was using Polaris sled oil since I had some kicking around. When I took the top end apart, it was very nicely oiled everywhere and in great shape.

I have another friend with a KTM 300 (the one in the pic) and he just did the top end on that one. He is running H1R and it was very impressive the coating of oil everywhere.

For sure ride it on the street. Of course there will be some quirks and quarks for vibes and such, but if you don't care, then just ride it and have fun. I keep the gearing the same on the back sprocket (41) and just switch out my front (13 and 14). But if you have spare rims, then for sure throw a small sprocket on the rear and go to town. I wish I had some extra rims for my bike, I would keep some supermoto's and another set for my ice tires. Just makes swaps that much easier. For me, swapping the front sprocket is easy peasy and I can gear it the way I like. From what my buddy says about his 300, the only real "issue" is the front wheel vibes with the rim lock. Mine does not have one and is silky smooth, but he has taken his 300 on 700 km dualsport trips before with no issues, and that is even with 14/52 gearing. He could still have no problems keeping up with the 650's and 950's. With my 14/41 gearing I can outpull and pull away from a KLR 650 that has the 685 kit in it and cammed to heck.

I have a ktm 250 xc/w with a street tag. I mostly ride hare scrambles and enduros and haven't put the tag on yet. I have everything to do it , but love my RZ350 on the street, 350cc 2T street bike. It turns me into an aggressive wheelie idiot.
