Husqvarna Barn Find
Just had a 1998 Husqvarna (I think TE 610) delivered. Street legal. Looks like Baja Designs stuff.
What do you know about these bikes? Looks like someone that had it before knew a thing or two, has a Vapor type guage array and some other cockpit mods on a nice custom plate. Excel rims and fat spokes. Mini turn signals. This bike is new to me and I know nothing about the model. I can't even find the battery or ignition switch if it even has one. It has an exhaust on it that says TE 610, it's got a 1998 vin. SUPPOSEDLY the carb is cleaned and the valves set. Anyone fancy doing a tech day for beer and snacks? I have two broken hands I am repairing, but can still open bottles and make sandwiches. Any info, pictures, loan of a manual, help, ideas. or you can just stop by and laugh...............

Is that "Claremont" in your profile the neighborhood between Berzerkeley and Oakland or somewhere else?

Yep, Claremont that straddles Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
Yes, kick start only. Tag on plate reads 2008, I am assured paperwork is on it's way. There is an 8 cell AA battery pack to make 12v behind the front screen. Perhaps it powers the lights and Vapor when the engine is not running. I don't know if battery power is required for starting. It has an ancient looking stator. Sure is a cool project. It's pretty clean and in good looking shape, and totally bad ass. I'm going to see if I have spark and fuel delivery and give it a few swift kicks. I am rather limited with my hands on the mend yet, but maybe this will be good occupational therapy. I haven't ridden or even wrenched since Sept 12th! (Mad cow day). The exhaust sure is groovy on these things. Sorry no pics my camera is down. You are welcome to come and take some. Anyone in the vicinity can stop by for Chardonnay, cheese and crackers......we are very up market this week.............

![]() 1998 Husqvarna TE 610 This TE 610 is a high tech , liquid cooled four stroke with a four valve head and overhead cam. This bike comes with 45mm Marzocchi forks and a progressive linked Showa monoshock. The tires are Metzler "Unicross", chain is DID and the brakes are Brembo. The Husqvarna engineers are still producing the best looking and worldclass competitive motorcycle. The spark plug is a NGK C7E, gearbox holds 1600 cc's, Dell'orto PHM 40 DS carburator is used, and the displacement is 577 cc's. This Husky has a six speed gearbox and uses DID 520 chain. Like the TE model above, the lights make this competition model legal for enduro events, but were not intended to make this model legal for street use. The kick stand folds way up out of harms way and is visable tucked under the left number plate. Great handling, hi reliability when maintained properly , excellent torque thru out the full rpm rangemake this model a great modern competition or trail riding bike.

YUP, that's the one!
It has California plates for the street now. I really don't think it would make a street bike commuter. Too tempremental. It's quite a hybrid mongrel. Cagiva marked on the exhaust Husqvarna on the engine Ducati inside the stator cover I guess it's a corporate take-over model!

What's the plan for the bike?
I'm missing something. Did someone make a barn find of this bike and bring it to you to fix? Or did you find and acquire the bike? If so, do you plan on selling once you get it fixed up?
