SE starting Problems when cold
Hi guys,
My SE has a been having trouble starting recently when cold. It's been cold, and fires up but dies afterwards .Choke fully open. Looks like fuel starvation or something .If i'm lucky and it gets past dying and warms up its fine all day long. Any ideas? ![]() Thanks |

Could be lots of things but when did you do your valves last. This is usually the reason.

If I use full "choke" it will not start verry well then die.
3/4 and it starts and runs great but does not need to really be 'on' for long.

I had some problems starting mine from cold then Pyndon showed me to use the choke and hold the throttle on just a bit whilst pressing the start button, had no problems since.

Mine does the same. Valves are in spec. Just figured it was the nature of the beast.

It could just be technique, but this is the way it acts when the fuel pump starts going out. The carbs run dry on startup, then the pump starts working again and every thing goes back to normal.

Set your valves, sync your carbs see where you end up.

Check your air screws and your idle. My bike had the same problem and I just adjusted those two things and my bike runs perfect now.
