Gorman is a pretty fun race, and what makes it fun is you get to race in the forest!!!
It can be hectic, riding through the park with all the civilians. You have to have your head on a swivel, trust me. When you get to the special tests, they are controlled to keep the idiots out so you can race without a care.

I believe VCMC is putting on a timekeeper later in the year, and I will be there. I started riding enduros a couple years ago and I love them, bought a computer, and I do quite well usually And they pay desert points.

i'm doing the family enduro on saturday
the loop is only like 10 miles...we probably wont get all the good stuff you get on sundays race

Well that's better than my son Tim...Seems like all week long he wants to go racing and then Friday night his girlfriend gets in the way. What kind of kid am I raising? Would rather get nookie than go racing? How am I supposed to live vicariously through his racing if I can't get him to go?

So after looong time without any racing I'm going to Gorman GP on Sunday. Bike is all ready to go and I'm super pumped. Took off as many parts as possible to make my pig a little lighter, even got rid of kick starter - like it's going to help me

I got GoPro for my b-day from my caring friends, they probably expect some action I will try not to deliver any exciting YouTube material.

Put your kicker back on, it isn't going to help and you know damn well that this will be the race that your battery dies

What race are you going to be in? I am going up in the morning just to watch the early races, then we are going to do a little testing on the Baja bike in the park.

Not my battery - I just got brand new lithium one :) I will take the kicker with me just in case, you are right and it will die if I don't.

My bike should be easy to spot, I just cut out some nice carbon fiber plate backgrounds, should last about 1 minute :)

I will race unclassified in the morning and Vet at 12:30, both on Sunday of course.

By the way I was going to PM you, how would you feel about giving a couple of riding lessons? See you!

Glad to see you back out there. I thought I saw a while back that you were done with the D37 thing since going back to work on Mondays hurting was a little too much.

I haven't raced since the end of February - hurt my foot at Checkers, then blew out a couple of disks in my back. Back is good but I went running Monday and my foot is starting to hurt again. It sucks getting old.

I was thinking about going up to Gorman and trying my first GP but it's just not going to work out for me this weekend. I'm looking at selling my kendon trailer and buying an old pickup for nothing but hauling my bike around.

Good luck this weekend and make sure to post up some video. One of these days I'm going to get my Checkers crashes up.

Can't wait to start next year and I hope I see you out there again.

thats funny - my lucky number is 13 as well.....

Ive ridden a few of these out there. I doubt they would be much different than the past. I know the first four jumps on the track pretty well.... that's about it.



I blew up the fork on the KTM the last time I was out there because I suck and landed flat and the bike actually bounced back into the air.

One of my friends just called. The water pump is broken so they are not watering at all, expect a lot of dust.

Went up to Gorman today, no racing for me though. Met with all the Baja team guys, the bike was delivered at the race so we all drooled on it a little.

Good luck to you guys, MD, you can PM me, but maybe wait a couple of weeks as I am pretty spun right now trying to get my shit together for the 1000. We are leaving Friday and I'm not entirely sure when I'll be back
