KTM LC4 Incas

Anyone have any knowledge of the KTM LC4 Incas (553cc)?

I have been offered one but don't know anything about them. I have Googled but there's not much out there.

The owner tells me that it is a 1989 bike, he is the first owner and it has only covered around 5000 km and has been sitting in a garage for 15 years.

I'm running of memory here, so I could be wrong but...

Basicly they were an 89 LC4 600 with a bigger (20 liter?) main tank and I think they also had two rear tanks like on the pre 97 Rallyes.

Basically they were an early version of a Rallye.

They have all the problems of the early LC4s (I think they had an electric water pump that didn't last to long and basically an apparently deserved reputation for unreliability), so it wouldn't be to good as a daily ride, but I would grab it if you were just after a bit of history.

There is a bit of info on them in This thread.

Edit again to say that after looking at the link I posted, I am probably wrong and it is just the restricted LC4 600 that was posted early in the thread.

Do it look like this;

That's a 1989 production model LC4 600 "Incas".

info/what to look out for...

waterpump
carburettor (was a del'orto?) could be troublesome... many fitted mikuni
Ignition box - sketchy - kokusan off the the later 97+ bikes was an improvement
No thermo fan on radiator (IIRC?) they didn't like being stationary (maybe not so good as traffic commuter bike?).
No electric start on that model... just kick.

That's about it, that I can remember... 1989 was a long time ago...

Thanks, yes that's the only photo that I have found! I sent it to the seller who confirms that that is what it looks like. I have to wait for the sellers daughter to get her new camera for Christmas before he can send me some photos!

I'll post when I get them.

KTM LC4 600 Incas

This is my KTM Incas, build in 1988.

My first Tour was in Oktober 2012 to Niedersolbach / Siegerland.
There was an Enduro and ADV Meeting. It runs pretty well. It`s driving very comfortable.
