Welcome from Lutz. I haven't been riding off-road since I moved down here but I'm sure there will be more informed responses directly.

Hey there, pPatrick, welcome!
![]() Larrygee also has an F800GS, and he and I are going to tag some rag-a-ramas Sunday morning. Mostly, or all, on the road, but look us up on advrider for some of our local dirt forays. We'd be glad to show you some of the trails and dirt nearby. Can you join us Sunday? You're more than welcome to! PM me for details. That goes for any of you other FFs around the peninsula, too! Road ride Sunday morning?

Just wish whoever put the post up would say that, before having to register ![]() Any idea if the donations go to a qualified nonprofit?

It all started with an ex-prisoner.
"I am both awed and humbled to have been a part of something so enormously effective," says Mary Kay Beard, the founder of Angel Tree. "Being there at the beginning I consider it one of the highest privileges of my life." Mary Kay was a shotgun-packing bank robber and adept safecracker who made the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. Arrested in June of 1972, she quickly collected 11 federal indictments and 35 charges against her. But her 180-year sentence turned into a six-year sentence and her broken and troubled life became a testimony to God's power and blessings. "When I was arrested, I thought my life was over God was about to step in."

Here's the scoop...
This is the 6th Annual Gobbler Ride for Foster Care Kids whereby DDS and others comes together for a neat day of riding that benefits underpriviledges kids during the holidays. Here are links to past Gobbler Ride Reports... We also do these types of rides like School Supply Rides and even specific kids, like our Ride for Stephanie, which brought tears to a lot of guys eyes... We've had people from Canada, the Carolina's, Georgia and Texas come to thses things. Iron Butt riders and the support of BMW Riders of Tampa Bay. About the Gobbler 2012 Minimum donation is $25, feel free to donate more, many folks do! Registration closes on Nov 11th...... Adventure Route is 180+/- miles of paved and dirt roads with scenic mountain views, wooden bridges, castles, and a lot of nothingness! The Paved-Only Route is 200 miles of twisting pavement through the Florida Ridge and equally impressive nothingness, but not as deep into nowhere as the adventure route! (Check out the link above for last year's ride report!) GPS and route sheet information, along with directions to this years staging area will be emailed to all registered riders on Nov 12. We in turn then get giftcards and donate them to the Giving Tree of a local agency that helps foster care kids and kids with behavioral health issues and their families. So if you'd like to join us, you are welcome to, we'd love to have you, and the kids benefit from you being there. So give up a case of beer, of a couple packs of smokes, or a few Big Mac value meals and help make a kids holiday brighter. Now to set some of your minds at ease... Here's a picture of me last year passing along the gift cards to Pastor Jay (notice all the lists on his door for kids in need) ![]() And here's the letter from the organization.... ![]() We hope to see you there! Begin your journey by clicking here and following the links for The Gobbler!! Swampy screwed with this post 11-05-2012 at 09:28 AM Reason: add more info! |

Hey Patrick! Welcome. One word of advice. Think twice about riding your shinny new bike with JohnnyA. It won't be shinny or scratch free very long.....
