It's circa 1980-'81. I actually know too much about it. I took it to an expo in 2006 and got Gary Kramer to sign it and won this lapel pin that matches his. Looks like the headstock. The only thing I don't know is how many more were made fretless. When Kramer went under the production numbers were lost.

Nice amp! I'd love an point-to-point wired all tube Marshall but they're so expensive. Have you looked at an 18w Marshall Clone? You can buy them as kits or complete. They're a lot cheaper and I believe are a bit more true to the original.

For a little amp I really like my VOX ac4tv.....I have actually found it a bit loud at home.

I have a few others a Roland cube (I think it is the most under rated SS amp out there) for what it is, that is a very nice amp. I also have a line 6 spider iv 75, that thing is really too big, but I like the different things I can do with it....but truth be known I really play on the vox or the roland.

How clean can the VOX get?

Very....I would say that 99.9% of what I play is clean...I am currently working on the theme from The Sting....that is more my style than AC/DC or something.

Now don't laugh but I also looked pretty hard at the Bugera V5...liked it quite a bit, but some reviews scarred me away due to quality control issues....but the one in the store did sound pretty darn good...and for around $100 I may give one a try.

I would also say that the vox has held up pretty darn well....In the nice weather I take it out on the porch and play....it gets moved around quite a bit and I have never had a problem...heck the dog has even knocked it over on the porch...can't say enough good things about it.
