On occasion mine develops this issue, it is my sign to clean the oil jet. Works everytime. But that's just mine.

Yep, same here. Clean the clutch jet out and make sure the clutch pack is assembled as it says in the LC8 manual. I had given my clutch pack some heavy work on a 2 day rally in Wales a few months ago. In the end I had to refinish the steelplates as they had been over heated but none were warped and the fibre plates were still in spec.
You definately need to keep on top of it to get the best performance. |

When you say one steel plate out of order, what do you mean?
I am having clutch/creeping issues. Just trying to learn as much as possible. |

if the clutch pack is not below the minium stack height, then I would inspect all the plates. If the steel plates are not overheated and warped, then I have had very good success with the following:
1. round up a piece of plate glass, 12x12 inch or slightly bigger, tempered would be best. 2. spray contact cement 3. full sheet of 400 wet dry sand paper. glue the paper to the glass lightly sand the friction surfaces of steel plates while flushing the paper with fluid of choice (I use this setup in the solvent tank). Sand each side of the plates until there are no shiny spots. Now do the same to the friction plates (LIGHTLY!) to remove most of the burnished effect on the surface of the friction plates. Flush well with solvent, blow clean/dry, cover all plates with oil and reassemble clutch. will be butter smooth

me too
my 04 950ADV has started doing exactly the same thing. As soon as it warms up it disappears. I'll change the clutch push rod for a later model one as the 03 & 04 ones have an alloy multi-piece one which can compress slightly as it wears causing issues. It's a simple straight swap.

I was doing the same thing for that problem. But sometimes when riding with others I didn't have time to wait. After stalling and almost falling down I decided to do something about it. I found the inner steel plate had a ring worn in it and replaced it. I also cleaned the oil jet and put on an Oberon slave cylinder. I'm not sure what did the trick, but it now works smoothly and will shift into neutral easily.I used 5w BelRay fork oil in the clutch master cylinder.
