IBA border-to-border through eastern Nevada

I'm in the early stages of planning a Border-To-Border, Canada to Mexico next year. One of the shortest routes would take me through eastern Nevada, specifically south on #93 and #318, finally getting on I-15 just north of Las Vegas.
Initially I would be coming off I-84 and onto #93 at near Twin Falls.

You guys that have ridden 93 and 318, what's it like? Doesn't appear to be much in the form of civilization. That may be what I want, but are the gas stations far apart.
It doesn't look like the type of road that a biker would go out of his way to ride, but my goal is to put miles behind me. The ride home will definitely be different.

93 is a good route to cover distance. Not much traffic, which can be good and bad. Make sure your bike is in good shape and confirm that the gas stations on the map are open and have gas.

93 is good way to avoid traffic... Only downside is I don't remember there being a sholder for street bikes to pull off the road when u get tired or have an unplanned need to pull over...

Dress "appropriately", and you'll never need to stop for that.

Went from AZ to Canada & back in Aug. & used this route up through Twin Falls & returned the same way. This would be my # one choice. Gas no problem & stayed in Ely both going & on return. Great road.

Checking out this highway on Google Earth indicates there isn't a lot of civilization along it! What's the cell coverage like along it?
As for an overnight stop on this ride (it's a 36 hour run), I looked at both Wells and Ely. Wells looks very interesting, but I don't think I'll have time for a night in this town.

No other riding will be done for those 36 hours. So I'll plan for Ely.

Thanks Blue, A Gold Wing it aint, a great bike it is. I stayed both ways at the Prospectors Hotel. reasonable price & good restuarent on site. Have a great ride.

Hello,

Rode my xt225 from Boise to SoCal. Left Boise @ 12:00 and made it to Ely then Ely to Dana Point Ca. next day.
2nd day 530 miles of heat and wind especially when got to 15 through Vegas.
Leaving Ely going south just past Golden Arches turn right on 6 then south on 318 and that will take you to the 93 again. You bypass the town of Caliente but saves you about 60 miles. Just out of Ely it is curvy but straightens out soon.
As through all small towns do not speed as there is a Police car at one end or another. 93 the police are big SUVs or mustangs, hard to spot.

That's the route I've been considering. And having a few curves would be a welcome treat.

Can anyone tell me what cell coverage is like in-between these towns?
