Try a Husaberg 570 for a reliable light bike. - one of my colleagues ("Beta" of this parish) took one 19000 miles (30,000 km) this year up Ojos del Salado for our world record, then he rode it all the way back to Montana from southern Chile, with nothing more than oil changes about ever 50 hrs. or a 2012/13 model KTM 690 with Basel Defy Rally-Adventure kit on it

My GPS screen in the vid caps
Got a PM asking about whats happening on the GPS display:
The main part of the screen shows the track we need to follow, in a track up format. So in the pic below, its a wierd shaped part of the track, but we curve slightly to the left and then there is a 90 degree left hand turn coming up after that. On the right of the screen I have 4 sets of info: On top is speed in km/h (in this shot 45.8 km/h) Second is distance to the next waypoint (30.9 km) Third is distance to destination - the end of the current days track (30.9 km) - these two usually read the same since the next waypoint i had was usually the end of the track. At the bottom is the local time (16:03)

Sometimes I used them and sometimes no. If I dont use them then the tent is a bit floppy, but when its peaceful and no wind, it doesnt matter.

Walter, what program/method do you use to capture your GoPro stills? I do a lot of that too and I use windows media player, but when I do a full screen "print screen" I always get the little blue arrow tool bar on the bottom of the screen, so have to edit that out of picture to clean it up. The GoPro never ceases to amaze me with the quality of pictures it captures.

Great report, been thinking of Ukraine for a trip for some time
Stumbled upon this thread yesterday afternoon and got caught up, now sitting in my office refreshing every 5 mins in the hope of a fresh post... Thanks for making my working day as productive as cutting a lawn with scissors...
