Not sure how i stumbled upon this RR, and normally, i read them, dont comment, and sulk that it wasnt me that did the trip.

But. As a fan of photography, a new fan of KTM, and a dad of two myself. Just wow.

Thread revival for those that havent seen it before?

Great story, great photos. Well done.

Okay, sorry for the thread being down. As I mentioned in my edit at the first post Apple killed my gallery and while I've rehosted the photos at Smugmug it's taken a while to get around to updating the thread. Yesterday AtlasExp sent me a PM asking me to update it and that was the kick in the pants I needed so over the next few hours and days I'll be reposting and relinking the images to bring this thread back from the dead. Along the way I'll actually make the photos a little larger and add some extras from the archives but I probably won't rehost the video - at least yet.

Thanks!

I'm about halfway through updating and I'll try to get it all done this week. It's fun for me to reread it and hard to believe I didn't have a kid then yet. Wow, have times changed. I'll update it tomorrow with a photo of the kids.

Gregor, you might recognize this spot:

It was this ride report that clued me in to it, and I had to check it out when I was up there again this August. Incredible spot; thanks for the heads up!

Full RR here in case you're interested: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=823825

Mark, that's so cool you found the same spot. I think enough ADV'ers have stayed there that we could officially claim it as ours and install a guest book or something. Great ride report. It's interesting how more of the trip was paved for you but that there's still plenty of gravel left to explore. Thanks for posting that.

And finally, now that I've completely updated the photos of the thread, I thought I'd post a photo of my little adventure rider and her younger brother who was Evel Knievel for halloween. They love motorcycles and I don't wonder why.

Glad to see this ride report is still inspiring. I hope as the kids get a little older we'll be able to get back out and enjoy some more epic trips.

Great Pic!

Hi Gregor,

That may be the best picture I've ever seen posted on ADV Rider. I love it! Evel and Minnie!

Must be interesting around your house, huh?

Stopped in to see your Dad a few months ago. Told him I'd contacted you through your FM ad for your MV. We had a nice visit. I was on my way to Sipapu with a couple of amigos. Bob said he was heading that way early the next morning and he was in the process of loading his GSPD ........ but he never showed? Hope all is well with him. Did you send him a copy of this pic?

Hope the kids had a great Halloween!

Regards, Rob

Every pic got his own emotion feeling and you get happy, sad, glad, curious when looking at them! Well done!!
