i'm still saving for a trials bike, but enjoy taking the 450 into tight spots. FYI: 10 miles south of Moab, UT is a great place to ride trials or have event: (AREA BFE)

Wider and stronger, I have some old YZ450 bars on mine. The additional leverage and reduced flex makes a huge difference.Anything with a crossbar will be an improvement.

Well, yesterday I took my new bike out for a trail ride, whoopie! I'm still breaking it in so I took it easy, which at 60 years of age (me, not the bike), is a good way to ride-I think.
Spectacular view 12 miles to the ocean with my pretty little bike framing it perfectly. 80+ degrees in October, how I love the Central Coast!

Well it is the rainy time in the Northwest.
This is what it looks like now. ![]() I went to my local boat builder and picked up a piece of 1.25 bar/round[?]. And cut off two inches and went to play[work ]. ![]() If I ever make another one it will be easier. Going to have it welded on, or might just hook some two stroke pipe springs in it. ![]() Hope to get it dirty this week some time.

![]() ![]() ![]() Obviously stills, screen cap't from today. I'm the camera guy, not the rider, but we hit a lot of rocks today. Bottom two shots are essentially the same shot from two perspectives. practically the same point of the move.

"What did you do with your Trials Bike today?" ...
fell off it and dislocated my knee, again. Looks like that may be it for my riding days.

Hope you get better. I am still getting over tearing my ACL in half (and the resulting knee that could fold side to side as well as front to back). I am 4 months post surgery on an expected 9 month recovery time. I know what it is like to have the knee move in ways it shouldn't and I do feel for you.

r2wtrials, that is terrible.
![]() I mentally quit riding every time I hurt something, but for some reason, I get all healed up and keep on going. Take the time off, find a good (or great) surgeon and then tell us all about how you seem to have never been off the bike when you start back up. K? Good luck no matter what you decide! |

I can ride for an hour without braces and be in pain or quite literally all day over my favorite rocks with the braces on. No pain and ready to do it again the next day. The braces have changed my life. I started with a low cost pair of sixsixones and have recently gotten a set of custom fit donjoys with patella and shin guards. Good luck. Long story short me and the bike were heading backwards and unfortunately my foot jammed into something stopping it and my lower leg dead... the weight of the bike, me and the rearward motion just kept pushing and my knee popped. Thankfully it then popped back in again so not as badly damaged everything else anywhere near as bad as last time. Moral of story for me... i've gone to twinshock to lesson the severity of the sections i should ride, but was out riding with 8 guys all on modern bikes!! I was the only one to clean the section as it stood and then decided to take it up a level... and here we are again :) I will ride again but will leave it for longer and concentrate on strengthening the joint more, and yes i will use a brace from now on :) Great thing hindsight....! But only myself to blame, both for the section i was trying to ride, the crash and also the lack of brace.

[QUOTE=lineaway;20017281]So what kind of brace are you wearing? Or are you listening to the people with good knees saying you don`t need them! /QUOTE]
This bears repeating. ![]() You can buy some now, or you can buy some after you mess up your knees.........but you will eventually buy some. The only difference is maybe the messed up knees. No brainier IMO. |
