Howdy,
I have a BMW dual seat for the R80G/S. $160 OBO plus shipping. It is used but still in good shape with the usual scuffs in the usual spots but is very comfortable and serviceable.

One of the right side petcocks looks almost completely brand new. I'm having a hard time figuring if it was roughed up a little getting stored away or it was only used for a few thousand miles. $25 shipped

The other right side and left side looks like they could use a rebuild and obviously came from a used bike. $15 shipped each.

What bike is the petcock from

Cool2 Alu Krauser racks

for $160. I would rather have the cast aluminum instead and will probably keep looking for that color. My question would anyone have any ideas where I might find the supporting brackets that affix to the frame (near the seat and down near the footpegs- around the shocks)?

I'm trying to clone the bike (that's legal right?) I saw on

http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/bmw/index.htmU

and the racks really make the bike something special (that and the S Fairing).

I've been watching this board for a long time and this is my first post. You guys rock!
Um, I'm not sure if this'll work, (first post) but - I had aluminum Krausers on my R90/6. It was not a happy union. The short version is that they were brittle, (a turn signal snapped off with hardly any provocation, G&!# it!) and those forward locating struts didn't fit well and are allegedly prone to fatigue cracking. I chopped it up and recycled it several years ago. Muy unhappy. But that was me. I have the steel tube mounts now, at least you can bend and weld those. That's my cent and a half. Sharp bike, I like the slotted rotors.

Okay, I have to have one bike, I'd like to get ahold of something a little more dirt friendly. This thing would be fun to pretty up and tour with, but I can't do either of those things too well right now.

Thread about it here. Made in December of 1972, matching numbers, LWB. Haven't checked the tank to see if it's got the MC recess but it's got the adhesive type roundels. Located in Cookeville, TN.

Good:
56k miles
Avonaire fairing
Wixom luggage
Runs nicely, shifts typical
at least 90% tread left on tires (Bridgestones I think?)
Brakes well
Rides smooth
Pretty great candidate for a refresh

Not as good:
needs a pushrod seal
A /6 seat, or at least the cover
One bent seat hinge
No seat lock
Signals are from a UJM
passing light doesn't seem to work
Black plate Bings
Right side muffler rusted out at the bottom of the tip
Denting in top of tank from barbacks
some surface rust on things
Needs fork oil

Not 100% about typical prices but I'm going to ask $2500 for now. I'd like to see it go to someone who can love it and appreciate it, so I may not put this in the big FM. I'm very open to trades for a decent DS bike, something not too big.

EDIT: It's, uh, a R75/5 by the way. Could deliver within +/- 100 miles.

FS Krauser Rack and Bags

I have a set of Krauser bags and the rack from a 1982 R65. I'm not sure what bikes this rack fits but it looks to be somewhat universal. It was fully mounted on the bike when I bought it so I'm pretty sure everything is there, it even has the special rear turn signals that bolt to the rack.

The bags are in great shape. The rack is straight and true (surprisingly light too) but it does have some paint coming off.

Unfortunately, I do not have keys for the bags.

I'm not sure what shipping would cost, depends on where you're located and I'm in DC. So please take than into consideration if you'd like to make an offer. I'd like to sell it all as a set.

I added the "part numbers" I could find on the rack.

Left Rack - 141.7632
Right Rack - 141.7631
Top Rack - 7636

mrbindc, Where are you located? I would love to purchase the rack and bags from you but don't know if they will fit my '75 R60/6. Do you have any kind of part # or anything I could cross reference? Thanks

WTB 77 R100RS Gas Tank

I'm looking for a gas tank for my 77 R100RS. It must be an original type in excellent condition....no rust, corrosion, or dents. The color doesn't matter. PM with what you've got.
