would all be good choices, but I'd also be looking at NFL coordinators with college experience. The trend seems to be more and more valuing NFL experience.

I think Arkansas will land a whale and it'll be someone that will allow them to compete immediately, not "rebuild" for a few years.

Auburn is screwed as long as Saban is at Alabama.

Kentucky will likely just see if Calipari has some extra time to coach football.

Tennessee is going to go all out and spend some serious money to find their coach. Think more lane kiffin and less derek dooley.

edit: I still see coaching in the SEC as a drawback unless you're an egomaniac or a masochist. If I'm Brent Venables, and my choices are Tennessee or Georgia Tech (hypothetically) for the same money, I'm going to Georgia Tech. Just my $.02

Petrino at Kentucky maybe? We've heard the rumors already. He'd make a perfect match for their sleezy basketball coach. Kentucky needs to hire a "system" guy who can give them an identity that'll differentiate them from the rest of the SEC. Petrino is not that guy.

Ark is the best job open. They should be able to find a solid coach. The West is going to continue to be ultra competitive with Bama, LSU and it looks like A&M. Auburn is a dead end while Saban is occupying the state. Kentucky & Tenn have big uphill battles too.

Really? When I watched Florida play the last 3 weeks, I would agree that they didn't look like a #6 team should look......BUT...Who would you put ahead of them?

UF beat the three 2-loss teams that are ranked immediately behind them head-to-head and has a better win/loss resume than the two 1-loss teams ranked right ahead of them...I'm using BCS rankings for reference, which excludes OSUmidwest.

Nope, UF is winning ugly but it would be difficult to rank them much off from where they are for now. The 6 SEC teams in a row seem to be in the logical order based on actual performance.

I'm fine if an undefeated Nike U plays against an undefeated KSU....as long as KSU wins...

Bama is still probably the best team, but that's the breaks in this game.

Who knows how the season ends up....still some games to go and its hard go undefeated....even in the Big12-2

according to the coaches/usa today poll, Alabama isn't even the best one loss team around.

also, how does Washington sneak into the bcs 25 slot with 4 losses? I guess they got the tough schedule nod since they played an sec team.

And with all of this BCS talk....I would like to point out there is still a realistic* chance for a Florida-Georgia BCS MNC rematch.


Would it really be shocking for them both to win out AND ND to lose to USCw; KSU to lose to UTw; and Nike to lose to (OSUpac, Stanford, or USCw)????

None of those individual events would even be particularly surprising, the chain of events is highly unlikely though.

After last year's BCS MNC game and this year's horror show in the WLOCP, the college football world outside of the SEC would be apoplectic

We can only hope for now......

I live in Lincoln, Nebraska....and am a big Notre Dame fan (no family alum, just always liked them).

There is talk of an ND vs. NE rose bowl.... I think I will wear my ND gear to the Husker game this sat.

I don't think Charlie Strong goes anywhere. Louisville seems really committed to keeping him.

Gruden, he seems to be way to far entrenched in the NFL to start coaching College sports. If he did, UT would make the most sense with his history with the University.

Peterson does not/ did not seem interested to leave Boise State.

Petrino is probably going to have his choice of schools.

I know out of the 4, UT is the most attractive out of the 4 jobs to open up.

If I had my choice of which division to go to, it would be the east. Kentucky being a basketball school, I doubt they get a big name to replace Joker.

As you said though, money talks. And nothing would surprise me.
