Nice!! We got a similar mix of snow with slightly warmer nights last March, and the muck up Little Bear creek was thick and gooey enough to rip the silly low fender right off my 990. I think Scott_PDX is using it for garden art

Great for sticking it out like proper ADVers
I was rootin'for ya,....from the warm comfort of my couch....

So glad to hear you guys made it out with out any Search and Rescue activated. Honestly I thought you might show up on my doorstep to access the dry heated shop I had mentioned. What a lousy weekend weather wise, but glad you made the best of it. Good call on bring the vehicles and not riding over.

Big blow came through here last night - washed my driveway out into the road-type of deluge with loud gusts. Just up the road from our place.

Snow just up the hill.

Almost TOO much rain - puddles?!

Nice one ydosque! Hmmm a brewery in Prineville... a good excuse to ride North...

Welcome RomeDouglas!

Had an absolutely excellent ride last weekend... somebody had ran the trails (Dave??) maybe a day before and they were perfect.

Lots of traffic.

Great ride home after hitting Three Creeks Brewery in Sisters for lunch.

Winter

Nice to see winter is finally hitting the Northwest. Been hanging in Sedona this week and it feels like a million miles from home. Dry and warm here every day, kinda boring. You'd think this place would be a haven for dual sports but I've yet to see anyone riding anything other than big road bikes.

Not sure what the deal is.

Cool shot, and yes, having just moved back from a place of no seasons I understand why you think it's boring.

Winter Reprive

Finally got out to do some riding today. Nothing special, just the trails out my back door. But wonderful to be back on the bike. Took a few pictures with my S3, not too bad for a cell phone.

Here's looking over Madras with Mt. Jefferson in the background:

Explored some trails across the ridge and now on the other side of the ridge looking south east. Later I rode county road along the bottom of the valley.

For the most part the trails were perfect. In the shady spots there was heavy frost, in the sun there was some mud. I was lovin' it. Very few other tracks, but I did come across one guy loading up his Yamaha 125 after doing some trails.

Going for the "dramatic" shot. Not real dramatic when the canyon is only 50 feet deep. But the trail in the bottom of the canyon in this pic is a blast to ride..

Technically most of this area is in the National Grasslands and is closed for the winter. I "tried" to be sure to ride the few roads that are legal to ride through.

Spent about two and a half hours out dinking around. Glad winter gave me an afternoon to get out.

Tim

Nice ride! It's been about three weeks since it's been riding weather here. I'm ready for some warmer weather.

I'm in Bend too. I got a wr250r in the spring and have had a blast exploring the area. I'd love to tag along on a ride sometime, I'm sure I'm missing half the good stuff.
