If you ride in places where you need to pick your bike up more than twice per ride I can tell you that shaving off those extra lbs is something your body will thank you for a thousand times over.

I bought the LeoVince carbon pipe originally because the shape allowed me to go with a balanced rack system and balanced boxes. It also shaved a few pounds. The big suprise was that it totally smoothed out the snatchy throttle issue that I had with my 2009 F800GS.

Y'All know I have played the exhaust game quite a bit with my F-8. Three exhaust systems later I can say with full honesty: "More power less filling! Just remebr that this is a big soffisticated air pump and you have to change the flow through the entire motor system not just the can on the end of the chain!

It was one of the last mods I did, as the stocker sounded pretty good. But once I held the stocker in one hand and a titanium 2 Bros in the other... wow. The stocker is a tank compared to an aftermarket. Sounds good without being too loud. But it's not really needed, I could drink less beer and lose the weight. Or you could buy an aftermarket pipe and drink more beer!

Narrower girth is what I was looking for. Being a lot lighter didn't hurt.

The big fat ugly heavy stock muffler works just fine.....has never caused me a problem yet in weight & balance or performance-wise, so its staying.
But you got to do whatever helps you sleep better at night. It's the most important thing of all, I've learned. Personally, my F800 investment has surpassed $19,000 now. ![]() And, I was sleeping like a baby.....until this post! HF.

Not sure how babies sleep. At least the one from my neighbour does not too well as it cries and screams several times every night, but nothing half a bottle of Vodka cant compensate
![]() My hot tip: get that aftermarket muffler, after spending 19K it plays no role. You will love how raw that F8 can sound ![]() And BTW the stock muffler is far lighter than most people would expect... Cheers Steve |

Naaah.....I like it quiet. I tend to be a sneaky sort, getting in & out before anyone realizes I was even there.
I did remove the muffler once and weigh it. Been a long time ago, but seems it was around 21 pounds, if I recall correctly. HF

It's half that actually, around 10.5 lbs.

I put one on mine, mostly because I wanted to get rid of the corroding piece of crap stocker. It is a lot louder than I wanted, but that appeals to the inner kid in me.
BRAAAAAP I have noticed my mileage has got worse since I put it on, not sure if this is because of some change in the bike or because I am going BRAAAP
