Suggestions please: GPS for CDR and mountaineering use.
Suggestions please: GPS for CDR and mountaineering use.
I plan to ride the CDR next August, solo per my usual. As well, I and my family hike and skitour. Thus a GPS for both the CDR and mountaineering is what I wish to have. I have read some but not yet getting a handle on a choice. Last August/ Sept I rode the WABDR using maps, solo. I would not want to attempt the CDR without the GPS, solo. Thank you for input if you know about these things... |

For hiking, you are limited to HandHeld class. If you are looking at Garmin, there are lots of choices from e-trex to 60/76/78 to others that have state names. Not sure battery life on Montana but I think it is in the running. You question should also have your budget.
Best Bargin 76Cx at WestMarine for $150
