[QUOTE=Czechplease;20045166]oooooweeee!

thinking about your suggested mounting points for the lights, I see a breakage issue possibility. And,,adding unsprung weight is never a good thing. Strobe effect on a bumpy section!
I also think, after seeing those 42's lit up, than any dive in the front end from braking action will be virtually unnoticed in your immediate field of view. You will have plenty of projection to light up Bambi's eyeballs.
The beam is broad and high enough that lights mounted below the turn signals, and tucked in tight where they will survive a get-off, will work just fine.
Maybe mount them to yer new bars,, if we need mounting brackets,, I know of a machine shop in spfld run by an old drunk where we might come up with something.
I had IPF,"off road only" light blasters on my 12GS, and (I have heard from others) it is kinda fun to flip 'em on when folks don't move over soon enuff,,when their hair starts to smoke on the back of their head, and the dashboard begins to melt,,they usually move right over for ya.
Those 42's would be good for off road, but would get you killed or cited in nighttime traffic.
Hope we can all get something going for an order,,if I had a real paying job, I'd order six of each!
back-up lights on the Royota!
how about one mounted as a map light in the cab of yer pickup?
cover it in red, and have a kickass brake light!
Applications are seemingly endless,,mount a bunch around your front porch, triggered by the doorbell! What fun!

tblume....don't waste yer time judgin' me...I already KNOW I'm weird'n all hell!
I WILL however, thank you in advance for brining Ryan and Matt and their light connection into the equation. On the front side, the lights are neat and all, but...given the recent numbers of close encounters of the "venison kind" I've had, your organizing efforts may inadvertently end up saving my sorry ass.
(I don't mean that my ass is "sorry" literally...and I'm NOT ok with any of you checking it out next meeting to form your own opinion) Anyway, thanks.

peterman....good points about the "unsprung weight" and especially the "strobe effect" if mounted to the lower forks. That observation was also raised by Ryan while he patiently waited for me to finish mauling a chicken leg before going outside to demonstrate the lights.
The crash bars have a "tab" on them for mounting a footpeg which would be perfect since the lights come with a mounting stud. However, as you also pointed out...they'd be toast in a crash or even a tip-over since they'd be hanging out past anything else.
I'd like to take that machinist-drunk up on his offer. I think some kind of "fabrication" will be required for a mounting bracket. Do you know how I can reach him....sober? (I sincerely thank you for the offer which I fully intend on taking you up on)

lww- you looked so sad last night when the waitress told you the 4 chicken legs you ordered would "be awhile". When my two showed up, I actually thought about "lending" you one till yours arrived, but then I thought, "sh_t, what if he just thinks I gave him that one cuz I didn't want it. I'd have to just reach over and repossess a leg when his 4 arrive". Then I thought back to the Harbick's ride where you slathered bbq sauce off your boot onto your chicken stix and I decided you like chicken too much, and I couldn't see it as a "win" to be rolling around the bar floor over a piece of poultry.

Secured a day pass away from chores and other obligations For Sunday.
Thinking about finding some new gravel to explore on the DRZ.
Suggestions and/or takers?

I'll likely be working, and will no doubt regret not going riding today when it was nice, and 'ol Art showed up on his 650Dakar, trying to coax me out of the shop.
xmas tree skweezer, bundler, string wrapper machine,, needs a tune up,spozed to show up in the morning, before my oatmeal!, has to be cut apart to access the stuff that needs fixin,,fix the stuff, then put it back together,,ready to go back in use monday morning,,I'm charging for safety meetings and pee breaks on this job!(plus gas I coulda burnt up!)
It's problly one of them jobs that I should have said no, but it'll be a challenge, and a learning experience.Yeah right!, lern how dumb you are for taking these things on!
Gonna get hurt, gonna get burned, probably cut as well, gonna lift too much for my old spine, gonna get pissed off, maybe lots, gonna breathe toxic smoke and possibly get grinding shit in my eyes.
Trouble is,, I won't learn not to do it again,,mouth overloads ass,,"sure,,I can do that for ya!", and creates hard work and misery!
I tell my customers,,"A million dollars", when they ask "how much?", but they always just laugh at me,.
I should have been a professional lottery winner instead of a slave to my own ignorance.
Look an the shiny side,, if I work all weekend, I might be able to buy a tire,,or part payment of a tooth repair!
