I'm impressed with your awesome product. If I can ever get my hands on a TW200, this'll be on my list of things to do for sure.

Island T-Dubr's install. His own one-off cooler, also carved from billet. Skidplate and case guards also his own creations:

Any chance of getting one of these made for the XT350?

Kit for California Tw's Available
A complete oil cooler kit for the California model TW200's is now available. Kits for 49-state TW, XT225 and TTR225/230 kits will follow shortly.
The kit includes the adapter, cooler, fittings, spacers, hardware, hoses and fittings required for a trouble-free installation*. Hoses are a Goodyear product, overkill for the application in terms of burst pressure and heat capabilities, and flame-retardent in the bargain. Fittings are pre-installed and Teflon'd. The basic hardware can be installed in around 30 mins. Add another 30 mins. to bring the bike to operating temp and leak check and anyone reasonably familiar with hand tools can be on the road with cooler oil within an hour. Cost for the kit is $200 shipped, anywhere in the U.S.: ![]() The unit installed on the California canister mount: ![]() * California Emissions canister relocation required. lizrdcooler@verizon.net Lizrdbrth screwed with this post 11-19-2012 at 10:29 AM |

How do I tell if my 98 XT225 is 49 state or CA? How much? Where can I get one?

Crazy C. Your XT should have a canister installed (you'll notice it....it'll look out of place on a bike).....do a google search for "smog canister for XT 225" and it will show you exactly what and where it is.

Nope, no canister on my bike. I bought it second hand from a military guy who had it in at least 4 different states with him. So it could be a CA, TX, AK or NC bike.

Also curious? I just bought a t-dub for my wife and can see a lot of slow, easy going exploring in our future, do you think this mod would help extend the life of the bike?

Yes a oil cooler will help to extend your engine life, as soon as the 49 state kits are ready I'll bolt one on my TW. With only one quart of oil these little guys run hot, a cooler designed and sized for the TDub just makes sense all the way around.

The 49-state versions are prototyped. I'm in Cali so it's taken awhile to verify with out-of-state testers in order to ensure that the 49-state hardware will accomodate all the known aftermarket tank, fender, downtube and skidplate hardware variations, just as I had to do initially with the Cali units. They'll be available mid-April at the very latest. Lizrdbrth screwed with this post 03-20-2013 at 03:00 PM |
