late... again

I'm glad I came across this on another RR, your TAT West was the first RR I read. I thought that was great, but you've REALLY kicked it up a notch with the inclusion of the vids!

The pix are stunning as usual. DP, you run a hell of a trip!

One of these times I'll catch it as you write it, I'm just glad I found it, only on pg.5, ain't stopping now! I've always wanted to ride this area, now even more than before. Thanks for taking the time, I don't know how you find it with your full time gig, but you do an excellent job!

Maybe change your handle to "Speedy69"?

You could just do what I did, and hook your computer up to your 52" HDTV, AMAZING PIX!!

Someone at home probably wouldn't smile as much then!

this sucks!!

NO, I don't mean the RR, BY ANY MEANS!! I don't even know how to thank you guys, esp. DP, for al of the time and effort you put into this whole UN-FRIGGIN-BELIEVABLE RIDE! Not just the RR, from jump street, the planning, logistics, ALL OF IT. You really pulled off on hell of a ride! I, as many have said, enjoyed the historical aspect too. I think it made it, if possible, more interesting.

I also like how you all get to ride your own ride, yet you know help is never far off. You guys have one hell of a crew, congratulations on finding friends like you all are, it's rare, but it makes for a damn good time!

EXCELLENT RR, ONCE MORE!!

Googel Earth overview

Tribal units: Here is a GE overview of the route, which I've expanded and revised some since DP's journey.

It's also no long called "Forever West ADV Route," which has a strong tie to Wyoming. It's now "Heart of the West Adventure Route," which better reflects that it takes in six Western states.

I'll answer for Tony Heugel (byways) on this one. No free tracks for this ride guys. Tony put a lot of time and effort into putting this together, and I was happy to compensate him the little that he asked so that several of us could enjoy the same trip first hand. Send Tony a PM and he can set you up! It's worth it!

Yes I bought Tonys tracks too. I got a lot of extra help and am grateful for it. The tracks are pretty much plug-and-play. I use a Mac and Tony converted it for me.

For people who have one shot at it, this service is great. I had a mechanical issue on my trip, so I only did a part of my plan. But I have next summer to finish it.

Does Tony have a menu of his tracks? I might want more!

The route has been revised to include a portion of the Pony Express trail in eastern Nevada ... and a whole lot more! Fuel availability remains an issue, however.

Well the Adventure Gods smiled on us as they always seem to. The weather was absolutely perfect and the Aspens were at their color peak. As you can see from the photos the colors were exploding!!!

It's one of the amazing things about our trips and the group we have - the weather always cooperates and there are lots of small things that occur during our trips that have no explanation other than good luck.
What time of the year would you guys recommend for this trip? I've never been to this part of the country and would like to do this ride. I'm guessing the 2nd/3rd week of Aug. so I miss the snow. Also, any reason not to ride my GSA; I'll probably be doing it solo, but from the picture-it all looks pretty straight forward.
