90th Anniversary GSA (The OTHER 2013 BMW)
Everyone is talking about the 2013 liquid cooled GS but I can't find a single thread about the 90th Anniversary R1200GSA.
I've never bought a new bike since there's plenty of used ones out there at big discounts from MSRP. But, if I want to buy and keep a bike for a long-ass time, it won't matter. I'm considering the 90th Anniversary GSA. I figure it'll be like the elusive 2006 1150GSA. Anyone have any info on this bike? When do they hit the showroom? Maybe they're already there and I'm too lazy to drive 20 miles to the dealer. I don't think this Special Model is any different (mechanically) from the non-special model in 2012, but c'mon, it comes with an engraved brass placard dammit. "90 years of character. BMW Motorrad is marking the anniversary of the exciting boxer model and its irrepressible pioneering spirit - 90 years of motorcycle construction motivated by sheer passion. The adventure highlight is showcased at its most impressive: the anniversary outfit of the R 1200 GS Adventure comprises a matt black/gold paint finish. Like all the special models, it also bears high-quality model inscriptions and an exclusive brass plate on the clamp. The R 1200 GS Adventure stands for a level of fascination which can barely be surpassed. 90 years - unstoppable: the adventure highlight."

Never new it existed, or in this case is supposed to exist. Beautiful bike, a few things I noticed right off the bat
1. Gold forks, very nice" ducatiesc" 2. Gold colored brembo's 3 no fog lights.. Odd on a GSA Color is hot. I'm like you I like em lightly used. It's really attractive, but doubt it will go anywhere my 08 can't, so I'm good. I may change my tune when the bubble boxer hits the GSA but that's a few years out still. Thanks for posting |

Pillion height is level with rider, diff?
So it boasts less than a reg gsa...we all know sum schmuck will pay more cuz it says 90th ann on it......Im actually quite certain that lb for lb, the Bmw sticker has more value than gold.

I called the dealer today and they'll be getting them in the spring.
If I buy new (I likely won't), this bit** will weigh in over $20k+options and the new liquid cooled should spec around $16,500+ options. Hmmm... |

Front seat on high... on low it would be the regular height I'm sure.
Clearly BMW is struggling to make the bike better... so it must be perfect. Well, I'll keep telling myself since I own a 2010

Like aGremlin said, all R12GSA rider seats in high position are level with the GSA pillion's seat. GSA rider seats are taller than a standard GS rider seat, and GSA pillion seats are lower than a standard GS pillion seat so it works out this way. Fortunately the R12GS/GSA seats are interchangable so you can mix and match heights between the bikes to suit your tastes

Called my dealer about this yesterday. Will be available around June here in Colo and will cost $2000 more than standard GSA. Only difference is paint scheme and commemorative plaque. ???

![]() Different paint which is being used to clear out old-model stock before the water-boxer...good marketing idea, but I'll be shocked if it works. If you are the type who wants the latest thing, why not wait on the new one? The GSA version is probably a year or two away, but I'd think the market will be full of lightly-used and new unsold dealer stock air-cooled units by then...

I agree - both look very nice.
This is very odd, especially given the price increase over the 'regular' bike. I'm sure they'll release special 90th anniversary fog lights for an add'l $1K.

I was hoping for a let edition, not another anniversary edition.
How about a GSA Rallye with red frame, orange seat and red/drk blue/lt blue stripes on a white tank?
