Please save the MCE Karoo!
Munich 12/11/2012 12:00 - Metzeler introduces the new Karoo 3 On/Off Enduro Tyres.
The new knobby tyre from the manufacturer with the elephant logo will be on sale from spring 2013 and will REPLACE the MCE Karoo and MCE Karoo T models... http://www.metzelermoto.com/web/news...onth&word=word --- And that's what we have to stop! The new Karoo3 will surely be a great tyre but mostly for adventure travels. But the original MCE Karoo is the best performance off-road tyre for most big enduro bikes and the new model won't change anything about it. Our message to the manufacturer is: Keep them both and save the original MCE Karoo, please!!! http://www.facebook.com/SaveTheMceKaroo Please share and like this page, post your opinion, your experience or your pictures and videos with the original Karoo and try to help us saving it!!!

Looks promising, at least for my needs; I like tires like TKC but I have to stick with rear Scorps since I need to do hundred (...sometimes thousad) of Km to reach the off road trails. TKC and Karoo don't last, and I hate the K60 so...

![]() These look brilliant for the Australian north. (Not that I am qualified to judge. But is appears they have big enough grooves to work in soft stuff, while keeping the knobs fairly stable for endurance on hard stuff.) Wonder how low you can safely run the pressures on a tubeless? Any guesses?

Karoo2 (not 'T')
Lasted 6500 miles with a Tubliss system on the front wheel of a KTM ADV 950 from Beyneu, KZ to UB, Mongolia via the 'Stans and plenty of off-road. Could easily be pushed another 1000 miles on tarmac.
Stiffer sidewall (by far) than the 21" TKC and much cheaper. I really like them on the front.

After 5 sets of Karoo T, I was thinking that it's my tire for life...although this new Karoo 3 is nice, I really wish they keep the old Karoo's. Oh...and every set lasted at least 10.000km.

The Karoo is at best an average performer and doesnt last that long even with a gentle right hand. Almost scary off road so I say any change for the better is a plus. Give me a desert or 908 for the rear any day. Scorp rallyes are 2nd in line IMO.

Sorry, they last at least 10.000km on my Super Tenere 850, always with passenger and with a lot of (successful) off-road.

I found that too. Karoo T on the front and after wear, it goes bad in soft stuff. Mefo SE
rear still good, well outlasting the Karoo front. This tire looks interesting though. But, I know how it feels when a tire just seems to work for you, so I'll send a note!
