We've got a small ADV contingent heading to Red River in Meunster on Sunday.
For those who've never been, it's a 2700 acre motorcycle playground with trails for every skill level. We'll have a white dodge dually with a grey goose-neck horse trailer and Ohio plates. |

Is that worth going to? I had never heard of it and just checked out their website - it comes across as, um, I don't really know how to say this, snobbish?? So it's $20 per person to get in, than another fee if I want to camp, another fee if I should want to plug in an electric device, I can't use bathroom/shower facilities unless I'm a paying member (regardless of whether I've paid the camping fee), I have to be gone by 6pm, etc. - it just comes across kind of snobby IMO. Is it worth it??

Luckily I'm not into sports
I'm just a bit financially challenged at the moment. It's cool that this place exists and it's only about two hours from my house. It just seems like a lot of fees to pay - if it's worth it, I can deal with it. That's why I was asking if it's worth the money to go check the place out

Worth going to! Every type of terrain you'd want and plenty of trails for every skill level. I found my piece of N Texas heaven. |

To answer your question, YES, it's worth it.
They've got something for every skill level and an incredible amount of trails. Yes, the prices are a little steep, but the cost of operating a 2700 acre park is no small task. Yes, there are perks to paying the $50 membership fee: shower facilities, $10 for entry, ability to access the park when it's closed to the general public, etc. Camping is free with your admission, there's an up-charge if you need electrical hook-ups. If you want to ride some real quality trails, this is the place to be. We'll continue to post whenever we plan on riding, feel free to join. |

I'm just still used to when it was $8 /day, and there wasn't the constant threat of a head-on with some drunken quadtard. I haven't ridden there in 5 years that wasn't an organized event. Don't really plan to, honestly. Unless I go on a weekday or enduri/race

That would be good! Chris brought Laura yesterday - first time I ever got to trail ride with another girl. I can't imagine 3 girls there! I know ThumperGirl wants to come up at some point as well.
And I can bring my little TTR if she wants something a little easier to trail ride for the first time. A bigger bike can be exhausting, especially when you're just trying to figure it out. GailCallsMeKarl screwed with this post 12-03-2012 at 11:13 AM |

Wait... Ural?
Not saying you couldn't take one there, but most of the trails are quad-width or less. |
