End of an era
Bought this tube of simichrome back in '79 or '80. I finally used the last of it, here it is before hitting the garbage bin:
![]() Through multiple moves, through college I somehow managed to not lose it. You can tell a couple things about me 1) I haven't had a lot of motorcycles with chrome or polished parts. 2) I'm really lazy when it comes to polishing metal bike parts.

I have a can of penetrating oil like this. I rarely use it as I stole it from a former employer when we were all made redundant. It still smells like the old factory when ever I use. Good stuff too.
My buddy has a can of silicone lube with the AMC brand on it. I think it is roughly 30 years old. Don't toss that tube, keep it as a trophy and a curiosity.

I got the same tube I bought back in 1992 and I still have it. I forgot about it and bought Mother's chrome polish for my chrome needs on the VW and these days I don't have anything with chrome.

Don't throw it out!
Just put it in a prominent point in the garage.

I was at an autocross a few years ago and was putting some anti-seize on my wheels. A middle aged guy sees the 8 oz bottle I have and says "that's a lifetime supply of anti-seize. I bought a bottle that size 20 years ago and I still have half of it left."
To which I responded, "I guess that means you have 20 years left to live." |

I got some semichrome that has to be 10 yrs old, a little goes a long way, plus I save it for the "bling" polishing jobs, regular cleaning/polishing of alum get the mother's .

I think I still have a tube of Semichrome that I got 30 years ago. I didn't realize it was such a valuable commodity!
