You might have to modify the exposed length on the upper cable if you are using the /5 throttle assembly.
I'm not using a /5 throttle, its a Tommaselli super praxis... is what its called.. i think.

This is exactly what I need... Is there an issue with the splitter being plastic... was reading around and saw in the descriptions of others that a metal one was an better idea, but was wondering if its just a solution to a non-issue?

The plastic one works fine and it's cheap. Make sure to grease it.

What splitter box are people using, out of curiosity?

Also I've seen a fitting that is a curved tube between throttle body and cable to divert the cable to a 90ish degree angle... it it ok to use one or is it considered a no-no?
good deal, worked well for me. Once the solder is melted in the pipe cap it stays molten for quite awhile so you can take your time dipping the cable ends....in my case the flux boiled away in about 10 secs. as Flanders suggests The molten solder could be dangerous if it was spilled so I clamped the pipe cap in some vice grips which in turn were clamped in a vice
