What is the weather going to be where you live on the 3rd of July, 2013? If you can accurately predict that, we might also be able to tell you what the weather will be in Deadhorse at any given time in the future.

Normally, by the first week of July the snow will have been gone for several weeks. But it could also snow there on the 4th of July. When you're that far north, and in a place that has weather that is influenced by such a variety of factors, you'd better be ready for anything. In addition to the possibility of snowfall in Deadhorse, it's more likely that you could encounter snow over Atigun Pass or pea soup fog for many miles south of Deadhorse.

Considering that late May - early June is usually some of the best time to ride to Deadhorse, your planned schedule should work out well. But nothing is certain on the Dalton.

If it was easy everyone would do it. if it wasn't an adventure no-one would do it. plan on snow. many years you will encounter snow well south of the arctic circle.

The latest I've seen leftover snow is mid-June in Anaktuvuk Pass. I've seen lakes still mostly frozen by July 5 on the Slope. While you could hit a freak snowstorm in July, particularly in the pass, the road is plowed all year and will not be frozen in July. Rain would be your more likely adverse weather encounter, which can turn the road into a mess. As AlcanRider said, the fog can be thick, common, and can drift quite a ways south over the coastal plain.

Last year we had an exceptially heavy snowfall state wide IMO
That Was the reason for a lot of late standing snow

Just come up and have fun

The Cassiar is the shortest way out of here, the State Ferry system between Haines and Prince Rupert is a great way to get to America. I guess it all depends how many times you've driven up here.

If you are leaving Seattle in mid-June you'll have the prime time to travel up the Alcan and the Dalton. I wouldn't plan for snow days, you'll be fine. Think about Dawson for D2D on solstice. If you haven't been here before you're in for a great ride.
