why BMWs?
Just out of curiosity, why are BMW GS models so over represented on this site, followed closely by oilhead boxers? I mean there are WAY more threads in those 2 categories than any other bike. Did this used to be a BMW only forum, or are these just the most popular adventure bikes by such a wide margin?

I think you answered your question, but there are other bikes represented as well. This is particular to the GS series on this portion.

Maybe because BMW and KTM are the prime makers of serious BIG adventure bikes.
Not wishing to start a scrap. :-) |

I love so many things about my BMW, especially the Turn Signal switch setup.
Why in hell would someone what that antique switch everybody else uses?.

I don't feel like it is over represented... But marginally, yes.

Could the answer be that thumpers are under-represented because of thumertalk.com?

I don't think so. After a site rewamp about two years ago..... the owners messed up going with the wrong site developer, that lost a large amount of threads.....Links no longer worked.... and the new format turned off many old timers...... and they spend less, and less time there. Just imho.

Maybe it's because all the KLR owners are out in the middle of nowhere in South America or Africa or Mongolia rather than sipping Starbucks and posting over the free WiFi. That wild uncivilized lot can't post from places like that.
